I'm curious about Sulla's build too.

I've been thinking about DS builds in case Gauss + 2 PPCs gets hit by the nerf bat.

Honestly the base DS loadout is pretty great if you just toss a few more SRM on there.

I've finally found balance with my 9B with the AC/20, 2 LLAS, 10 SRM and a XL 350. At least i think that's what I ended up with. The speed plus LLAS allows me to have some more range than the all brawler build, and chain firing them in close lets you brawl without getting too hot. It does run a bit warm and if i'm not careful while jumping and AC20ing I can shut down occasionally. Usually its after alphaing on some ******* to finish nuking a CT though, so the shutdown isn't too bad.

I'm gonna grab a K next and figure on trying to make a sniper/LRM build for fun. Those JJ's and speed should make for a good fringe support mech.

This is the fast DS I was telling you about. Or best I can remember I do not have time to login in and check exactly but will later. http://mechromancer....1,1,1,0,0,0,0,0

Any way notice your arms are just shields now. So until you die you should have weopons. You can move amo to head or where ever you think is best. I do not remember where I have it.

It does not hit like my 9S but its a lot faster. And I still can get 500-600 damage games in it. On thing that helps is the weopons work well for fast moving close combat mechs.

While the Quickdraw is an amazing mech in my opinion, almost 40 alpha is not 66 Alpha (66 is actually around 165% of the Alpha of Quickdraw) and almost 100 more armor isn't slightly less (Victor has 123% the armor capasity of the Quickdraw).

So 65% more Alpha and 23% more armor is not a good enough reason?

You tell me.

QKD-5K

16 DHS, 106kph, full armor, 6ML 1 SRM4, 4 jets.... 38 'alpha' every 3 seconds. Personally I prefer the penta small pulser version since its a little machine gun of doom...you thought a spider was annoying wait till this is pecking at you. I get higher damage scores and more kills with the quickdraw than the victor's heavy alpha. Speed is just too good.

Minus the jets, I could do that on my blackjack, but having 2 more DHS and 2 more ML instead of that SRM4.
Oh, and be faster.

Take off two MLs for a second SRM4 and you have my Jenner which goes over 140kph.

Obviously there's more to it than your alpha number.

There are those who put an XL engine in an Assault mech... and there are those who live to fight another day.

Its ok to put XL engines in certain mechs. The Victor is one such mech. It has very big arms that can protect its side torsos. Additionally it goes fast enough and has jumpjets so it can escape from most bad situations that other Assaults would die in. So XL on a Victor is 100% fine.

They're a poor man's assault that act more like a beefier heavy.

And? I thoroughly enjoy my Victor, sucks that you didn't but that's how it goes. Personally, I like fast heavies, so fas assaults are great to me. And I'm incredibly deadly with them. Loving it so far.
