Hi Devs,
this is actually a Bug not related to the last patch as it appears since a while for me, but I always forgot to take screenshots so far. I couldn´t find similar on the forums so here it is:

It appears regardless of pugging or dropping in a group and it is not depending on the map. Usually the Bug disappears after playing a while (but this might just be a false impression, because when the radar is full of contacts the one missing does not catch ones eye anymore).

What happens is that one (it´s always only one) player of my Lance will disappear from the radar screen. As soon as I look at him he appears on the radar again, if I look away he is gone. Check the screenshots that were taken within 1sec.

The Jenner is just disappearing through G9, I can see the Hunchie and the Awesome visually and on my radar.

Looking the other direction the Awesome disappears from my radar.

It's a minor thing but it is still annoying when trying to position. I hope you can look into this. Thx

This is regularly reported as a bug but is in fact working as intended.

Why is this "working as intended"?

I've gotten that several times too, though I didn't notice that it was always exactly one person from my lance... I'm pretty sure I remember it happening with exactly one person NOT in my lance before though.

This bug has been around for many months now, and is definitely not intended.

I gave up reporting this one back in closed beta.

At the time it was explained to be someone having a low end PC that optimizes itself by cutting off communication of its position to anyone not looking in its direction (being de-rendered). The mechs with this condition on your team supposedly lag while you're looking at them.

...These are the best people to target with flamers! O_O!

It usually is one person on your team.

Only once back in October did I ever see it happen with 3 mechs at the same time.

Sorry should have elaborated.

Radar is line of sight based, so I tend to notice this issue when I'm the only person on my team who can see a 'mech. When I look away, he disappears from my radar (and I get the beep), if I look back, he reappears. So my radar is populated by either 'mechs that I can see, or 'mechs that other people on my team can see.

I just assumed that that was what you were seeing.

In your case, I would guess the Awesome disappears because you can't see him, and neither can anyone else on your team. Certainly, the Hunchback can't because the Awesome is behind him. You can see the Hunchback on radar because the Awesome can see him! It's odd but that is how I think it works, it's purely LOS based.

I could be wrong of course, it might be you're seeing some genuine bug.

But you can see everybody in your team, think of the scout running behind a hill that apears on your radar... Or open the map with B and you see everyone.

You could kindly open up a new post in known issues.

BTW, forgot to take screenshots back then, but even had it with a mech right in front of me. A Cata walking through a little ditch, i could still see his arms and upper back torso, but he was gone from my radar and lost his little turquois triangle.

Yep, saw this on a friendly Cicada (not in my lance) today.

Now I had it with a different lance as well. Sucks even more when you are playing a cap-scout and loose overview who is coming with you.

Well I guess not enough people with this problem, otherwise there would be a response... this or all the devs are so occupied with getting CW up and ready that they can´t bother with small stuff like this :)

I've experienced this bug for months now, but I can see this taking a lower priority to hit detection.

It's annoying at the beginning of the game, but I don't think it has a lasting impact on how things go.
