I would like the possibility to buy empty mech frame and with all the stock in my garage I will be able to equip it. Why should I pay for a full mech which comes with an engine I already own?

If you're like me, your garage is full of stock and you could do a clearance sale. Why sell that stock at half the price you paid for?

I want to sell a STK and buy a variant, which come with the same engine. I know I can sell the mech empty buy I can't buy an empty one. Why is that? They forgot to add this possibility or it's a trick to get player spend real money?

Yeah, I'm all for this. I have more weapons than I know what to do with, and selling them back is a PITA.

Yes. Please add this. I have tons of spare equipment and don't really want to spend more than I need to on an entire new mech.

Who runs a stock mech? All of my machines are customized. I really dislike selling back crap at half cost just so I can buy components I will use. I just got a HGN-733C, I would have loved to not be stuck selling back the 270 engine for half value and then grinding for yet more C-Bills so I can afford to toss a 310 in it. I mean, ****, do you think I'm going to stop playing if for some reason I don't need C-Bills?

As nice as that would be, the game NEEDS C-bill sinks.

It would be fine from a business standpoint if unloaded frames could not be purchased for MC.

True. Although once CW comes out, there should be contracts, which will be sinking more CB than buying mechs with engines in them. If the house takes 10% of the contracts that is (which would be a good idea to avoid transfer of CB in the guise of contractual payment.)

I voted yes to this. I don't think this will happen as the price of mechs would be so low that they would cease to be a Cbil sink. Likewise I would put the same type of argument forwards with respects to their MC cost and the ability for PGI to make money.

I'd like to, but it'll never happen, because the 'mech economy would crash overnight.

It relies on the prices being such that it comes with a full load of weapons. If there was a version that just cost the frame, I'd own every 'mech that exists right now.

Yeah, cause they totally care about the lore.

You're assuming that a player unit can make contracts to hire other player units. According to the info we have right now, that is not possible.

For players who choose to be Faction, the missions will come from the system.
For players who choose to be Mercenary, the contracts will come from the system.

There will be no sub-contracting.

I'm hoping more than assuming, but point taken.

In this case you still have to buy extra bays for MC, right?

If everyone just maxes out the bays (to fit all possible mechs), it would make big profit for PGI.
+ you would need to spend a lot of time in-game to earn efficiencies. So you encourage other people to play. More people - more fun.

Win-win, as they say.

I voted no since I just don't think it would be good for the new players. How many of them do you think would forget to add armour? Also the selling of items used to be a lot worse, there was no increase or decrease amount buttons.

Those who forget to add armor will learn from their first fight, as will those who forget to add ammo or put wrong ammo type or underestimate heat sinks, have wrong engine etc. It's impossible to oversee everything, and this suggestion is meant to benefit those who tasted the current system and want some sauce on it.

However, especially for new players, I previously suggested an armor threshold warning, which is configured in the settings. It can default to the least % stock armor available for sale right now, which I believe is around 40% for Jaggermech. You buy with zero and forget to add some - it should warn you.
