This is the problem right here.

35 points of pinpoint damage, and if you need the kill, you can still do 45.

And PGI still can't release ANY assault mechs that can mount 2 Gauss Rifles or they completely invalidate their heat penalty, unless they arbitrarily link Gauss Rifles and PPC's.

And STILL doesn't deal with the Clans at all.
Most people don't realize it, but this is the biggest joke in the game. Assault mechs that can't carry dual gauss?LOL WUT

Well... In 8-man-matches you still see very many PPCs and assault mechs, the only thing the patch changed here is that you don't get these high alpha strikes all the time.

In Pug-matches the situation is much better now, but this is mostly thanks to the SRM-buff, not the heat scale thing.

PPCs still need a nerf, they still are way too good!!!

People keep saying that the Alpha Heat nerfing does nothing... I tend to disagree, it does slow down Alphas for its intended purpose. No longer can you smash people with 3-4 alpha strikes in a quad ppc stalker before you must overheat.

It more fun now to decide when to use your Alpha strike.... eg... Ohh I see a Spider standing still in my base ! Range is ok ! ALPHA STRIKE !! 70% HEAT... Spider dies... Pilot goes.. "WTF!!"

But I must say.. seeing how the killed refit/rearm for the noobs... I wonder if this made the learning curve too steep for them.
