Little funny Urbie

I loved the Urbanmech, i wouldnt mind seeing it in game, it was unusual a light mech had armour and a good gun, although slow, it was useful. And with the MWO Devs worried that scout class mechs would be ignored, a scout that can fight is worth a try.
Besides, will all the complaints about how Ugly it is, people forget u can change certain things about how it looks!
Personally i think it should be white and blue with a silver head...........

Take an Urban Mech and swap the AC/10 for a machinegun, and the Small Laser for a PPC...

Why not just leave the small laser in there? A kill with that setup has got to be worth something.

Yes want NAOW! But in all seriousness I believe that this would be one of the ultimate noob hunter because people new to the game would probably think that it's crap because of what it looks like and they would probably go for something that looks better while getting turned to stomped r2-d2 with legs.(stomped is a term used very loosely here as it is a fairly small mech compared to the others but it is a walking AC-10)

i fail to understand why so many of you want a useless light that cant do **** outside of a city besides get shot to hell with its low speed and no range weapons

Because somehow an AC/10 means instant win for no apparent reason. A panther has twice the speed and mounts a PPC for the same damage with no ammo, but people are screaming about 'I WANT URBIE' because somehow that mech is the icon for BT (though its never been on the cover of anything every printed.) An Urbanmech has 2 more tons of armor (32 points) than a Jenner or Commando, and the combined damage of the weapons they mount can do more DPS than the single AC of an Urbie, but hey we MUST include it. They should include it now, and everyone on this thread (and all the others) voting for it should have this mech become their founder mech, but without the ability to change its speed. If it is every included, the first thing people will do is take off the 'BIG' AC and make it faster anyway, defeating the whole purpose of the mech and making it just another light mech design.

I quite like the Panther, but it suffers from the big problem of 'IMMA FIRE MY PPC OOOPS HEAT SHUTDOWN!', whereas the Urbie can plink away all day with the AC/10 and never break a sweat. The AC/10 is also merely the base model Urbie. You can't really upgrade that single PPC on the Panther to anything bigger. Even if you had the tonnage you'd cook your reactor the first time you tried to fire. An AC/20 or a Gauss or if you want to get really creative a PPC and an AC/2. Although in that case I'd be a little worried about heat shutdowns...

actually the urbie with the ac20 also had trouble with heat if ya looked at the fluff moving and firing taxed its 10 worthless heatsinks beyond what they could handle
