I really like the idea of increasing the recycle time of the PPC. It's also simple to trial. There's a reason why sniper rifles in other games don't also have the highest DPS.

This way, PPCs could remain valuable for well-placed, pinpoint accurate shots, but the lower DPS would balance out its multiple other advantages (pinpoint, instant, longer range) against the other long range energy weapons (LLAS, LPULS)

Thank you WoL for getting the community together like that. How do I sign this letter? I was listening in on my mobile phone whilst at work and that was difficult at the best of times.
I/ we look forward to see if anything comes out of this, there where some good points raised & also some good ideas brought to light. Thanks once again, I can only imagine how much work was involved to get this to happen.

For me this is evidence that the player base is passionate about MWO and we do care as to what happens to this game. I hope PGI understand this. Coming from someone who believes this could be an amazing game I have dropped a lot of money into this, all I ask for is a little better customer service from the people in charge.

Part of my timing idea is that the heat is also that heat is ratio'd appropriately as well. SOOOO, the SL, while doing almost no damage per shot, can shoot over and over and over with almost no real heat generation per se, allowing mass amounts of SL to fire without risking overheat to the pilot. The pilot could easily stop shooting and run when heat starts to get unwieldy, whereas the PPC boat would essentially be a sitting duck who has to be dam careful about timing his shots.

I don't think I have ever been this highly vested in a community of gamers before. I just want to thank the goons for this. They've earned my respect where previously all they had was my ire.

At the very least they are making the most salient points of their constituency heard. PGI is ******* up and they will be damned if they aren't heard.

At least someone is doing more than complaining to their lance mates in TS.

Canon Tech
PGI are not using canon for key elements in MWO i.e. ECM and Beagle Active Prove. If they stuck to canon for key elements then we wouldn't have arguements over damage/heat/effects etc. Its this fact, and then PGI screwing things up as they implement them, thats the problem
ELO
Its the very FACT that they have an ELO system that is causing new players to leave the game as the new accounts have their ELO rating INFLATED and they get dropped against vets, get face stomped continually and quit the game. ELO needs to be set to zero for new accounts and have them matched against that, that way new players play against themselves and get time to learn and practice without incurring the wrath of veterans.
