All the variables need to be used in order to make an actual viable weapons range, although ballistics are where this is most apparent.

In order to have a viable range of weapons you need everything from the pea shooter machine gun, and a linear scale up to the AC20. Right now, the weapons are too clustered around the heaviest end, making them utterly unusable for mechs lighter than 60-65 tons. If you tuned up damage type variables for AC2s, 5s, and 10s to make them worth their current excessive tonnage on smaller mechs, then you'd run in to issues with the larger mechs that could fit more of them.

Basically, weapon choices need to boil down to "Lots of small/light efficient weapons" and then scaling up to the top end AC20 /gauss which are big, restrictive main guns which are generally never possible to use more than two of.

Fire the MOtown DroopS? As I recall, that was a grievance we were trying to bring up in the letter. Also, it was a prime reason why I left the game along with the rest of Zero Fox.
