Ever have an enemy behind a teammate and the targeting makes it appear your teammate is the enemy? I'm aware of the possibility and try my best to make sure, but it happened last night. I should have apologized at the time but I felt so bad I was speechless. I've played a lot of matches and its honestly is something that never happens.
I don't remember who it was but I am truly sorry. Glad it wasn't a TK but I hope you're aware that it wasn't intentional..

Its usually harder when on heat vision. If I am using heat vision and a teammate goes near the target I switch to a different vision type.
I asked in ask the devs a while back if we could get a ff indicator of some sorts like the reticule flashing a different color. Bryan said he liked the idea, so maybe that will get put in.

Great idea.
I was at a decent distance (500m) but it seemed like with advanced sensor range, the enemy being behind a hill and my teammate in front of the same hill, the enemy target was still placed in front of my teammate.
I'll will say my fault no matter what. Sorry dude.

Yep I remember on frozen city two stalkers were hugging eachothers, I used heat vision and couldnt recognize which one is main and which one is enemy so I started shooting on them both and I killed my teammate, and someone else enemy stalker, I just start to laugh myself

Something like this happened to me before, I was scoped in on a atlas and alpha'd a Jenner that was less 150m in front of me (as he jetted across) and killed him from 100%. TK and FF happen, as long as you don't mean to and it doesn't happen a lot its ok can't get down on yourself for too long

I've never had that specific situation, but I did make a TK yesterday. Also not intentionally! I was in my 2 x LMS20 + Artemis + Tag Stalker and my missiles were already on their way and I had a clear sight on the target. I had the indicator above the enemy that told me the Tag was on the target and just a fraction of a second before the missiles hit the target, a light mech from our team decided to hug him.
SPLAT! Instant TK... My point... sh*t happens...

There's only 2 instances of teamkills I remember having. Both involving splatcats killing nearly dead lights, and not knowing about the / key.
First one was when I went over the hill in frozen city, went to splat someone in the face, saw a legged raven and figured he was going to run forward . Turns out he was going reverse (something I don't see lights do often) and walked into my shot, this was also before I learned about the / key (I just thought I was having massive lag or something on my weapons), if i had the flaps open, it would not have hit him..
The other time was in a River City Night match where I severly injured the enemy team, and killed 2 jenners harassing our team (I didn't feel any shame in killing them either, Jenners were considered OP at the time. Besides, nice to have a little revenge after playing stock commando 1B for a while). I figure I'd take out the 3rd jenner (and final enemy) on the enemy team with a shot, I even hit him once before anyways. Unfortunately, some ally ate my load and there's a few reasons why.
1. 6 of my teammates were just in my view, didn't expect the last teammate to be to the right where the jenner was headed, usually there's a straggler doing something random.
2. An older version of Night vision made my FPS drop a lot (thanks for fixing that PGI!). Night vision also makes it hard to see things.
3. Still didn't know about the / key, leading to a delayed shot. So when I clicked the fire button and saw my ally, it was too late to look away.
Funny thing is, I never even hit allies other than those 2 times, except for when I'm using lasers and an ally walks back into them after I have fired them (even if I'm standing still they still do that).
I wanna go back to having splatcat shenanigans, but there are other mechs I must level!

It gets a lot harder when lagshield is actually putting redboxes where they don't belong, too. I've had to be extra cautious seeing a Spider run round my teammates when I'm firing from range, and I see a red box over the teammate but the spider off to the left looking like an ECM'ed Spider would look (no box at all).

i was once using an ac/40 jagger, me and a cat were fighting what i think was a centurion with probably a fast xl engine, and i fired but the cent moved out of the way and my ac/40 destroyed the cat. i did apoligise afterwoods though.
