I'm looking for a mech that can fulfill the following criteria:

Works best/uses Standard engines. XL's are a no no.
Must not be a hunchback/Cataphract/Centurion (i already have these)
Preferably has a diverse weapon loadout, meaning energy, missile and ballistics available.
Must have support and brawling builds.
Preferably not a light.

What do you guys think ? What can I use.

The Jagermech could be a good idea... 2 with ballistics and energie slots and the third has got rocket slots too.
With a STD engine they can be relatively good in a brawl, but most of time you should stick to your teammates. :)

Catapult are pretty good. (you should have an 300XL engine thanks to the CN9-D, so you could use it for them without any risk... your CT will get cored all the time^^)
Most got rocket and energy slots, but the K2 can mount energy and ballistics. A good support and brawling mech with many different builds. (maybe a sniper as a K2)

I don't play assaults, so maybe the Victor and Highlander would be good for balanced builds with all 3 types of slots.

Atlas or Stalker.

Those are probably the only mechs I'd almost never put an XL engine on... otherwise I use XL's almost exclusively.

Atlas. Most versatile weapon platform in the game.

Often when it comes to me deciding if I want a mech to have an XL or a STD engine, I think this: "will it still be able to shoot after losing both side torso's, or would it just be a walking heap of metal, and if thats the case, then how much more bang can I get with an XL before that happens." Ofcourse, that doesn't mean I put an XL engine in all of the ones that would become a walking heap of metal.

I would say probably the Catapult, Atlas, and the Stalker if your willing to get the hero version for the ballistic slot. Dragon's don't really matter as much, people sometimes aim for the sides alot, or aim for the protruding CT alot. For the Victor and the Highlander, I usually go for an XL since I want them to be able to carry the weapons of an Assault mech, be mobile, and have their max amount of JJ's. An XL is practically necessary for the Cicada if you want your speed.

So basically in the end, if we are talking about mechs that can still shoot with the loss of sides, and with those varaints possessing energy, missle, and ballistic hardpoints, then you would probably want the Atlas. It's is the only one that you did not list that has all three types of hardpoints in all of its variants, and two out of four have CT energy hardpoints. The Stalker has two variants that have one energy hardpoint in the CT, including the hero one. As for the Catapult, two of the four variants have two CT energy hardpoints, but the K2 doesn't and that is the only one that carries ballistics.

I I've pretty much relegated my JagerMech JM6-DD to a standard 300 engine, 2 PPCs or LPLs depending on how I'm feeling, and 6 machineguns. It's a fun build as a brawler. I rarely need 6 ballistic hardpoints so I'm using the JM6-S for most of my other JagerMech builds.

If you're looking for missile hardpoints the JM6-A fits the bill; I just whipped up a couple builds using a standard 275 engine with quad LRM5s or dual LRM15s that also have a bit of close up fire support just in case anyone gets inside LRM range.
