That's right, but the Annihilator is an ultimate ballistic boat. It should be able to tolerate some disadvantages. You wanna run quad Gauss, quad LBX or quad AC/10? Then pay the price with slow speed and a fat belly, which is easy to hit... Just my 2 cents!

will they call the hero version "FatBastard" and make it a captured unit used by the Northwind Highlanders?

Question on the second picture's arm pistons, do mechs still use pistons? I thought most (if not all) of a mech's strength come from myomer. Or is it just artistic license and I'm missing the point?
As for the pistons, they are not part of the structure, as you say, myomers and actuators do the "lifting" and moving. They weren't meant as shock absorbing pistons, like on your car, to help mitigate the wear and tear the elbow actuator would be exposed to from continuous firing of large bore autocannons. My King Crab and Centurion take have similar additions. I am a wannabe engineer at heart, I guess.

Sure. But with just a little tweaking it's pretty golden. But most of the Dragoon's "Exclusives" pretty well suck stock, gotta agree.
Non-Stock it's any mech but not the Annihilator. If I want to run ac20 2x ppcc i could take a Banshee.
Still love your sketching

Legs are bit short so it looks funny. This is how Annihilator should look:http://thundergodxar...r-IIC-355743879. Best design which i have seen.

You can apply this loadout on Atlas easily. Minimum range of PPC is pretty big disadvantage is close fight, i prefer ER PPC.

TG is a professional friend, so am well aware of that take on the ANH-IIC.
I prefer the legs short on the Annihilator because it makes more sense. 80% of it's mass is above the waist, it mounts massive, huge recoil weapons, and moves slow as crap. Long legs simply make it more inherently unstable. *shrugs*

Oh man but these short legs are realy ugly i mean the Mech looks like dwarf but it is your choice. If this mech will be officialy announced i hope it will look like the version of your friend, it is a realy great design.

fortunately, it appears plenty of people disagree. And since you cannot please everyone over aesthetics, it is what it is. Personally I think the longer legs look really ugly and stupid on the Annihilator, so what can you do.
could just go back to this I suppose:
