Probably amonst the most ignored of the Unseen. It has now been re-seen twice that I am aware of (MW4 (the model was used for the MW:DA figure) and Project Phoenix)

Neither really worked for me, though part of it was simply being an Unseen snob.

Anyhow, along with my Imp and Annihilator today (not being able to get enough bandwidth to play MWO leaves me with an amazing amount of free time), I decided to try my hand on the Longbow.

Reminds me of the Yeoman:

I like your version, but I would shape the "big" missile launchers hexagonal, like the MW4 Longbow.

Profile is already barn door wide. Hexaganal would just increase it, and enhance the resemblance to the Macross unit.

Woops, I totally forgot that this mech is entangled in that stupid license war too. Anyways: great work, you are shooting out concept arts like a machine, wow!

I was wondering how you keep cranking these out.

Is the heel of the mech massive due to recoil?

yup. and also to help counter the weight. Don't want too high a center of gravity. Also, since the Longbow is a pretty aged design, I wanted to keep it flatter and more industrial looking.

This is the best rendition of the Longbow that I've seen. When I attempted it (after the Rifleman/Warhammer builds) I was trying to incorporate the RIM-16 missile launcher design, but I couldn't figure out how to pull it off, much less redesign the torso to fit with the legs aesthetic. I failed to get the look that I wanted and abandoned the build.

You've managed to capture the look of the Longbow design without giving it those ungainly trash can arm mounts and even made it look balanced. The original looked as if it'd fall over to the side (my mini often did!).

I think it might have been your RIMS 16 that provided the initial design impetus for this, tbh. Then I just started bolting stuff on, lol. AEGIS radar, a Apache Longbow Chin Turret, etc. Then had to blend legs that captured some anime feel, but had the mass to counterbalance those launchers.

My TT version always ended up with a 255 strand, just because speed never seemed too important, and I always felt if it went too fast it would fall.

To be honest, the lower legs/feet could be a bit smaller, i think they are a bit to big

The color is understandable (altough all Marik mechs I've seen used more manly shades of pink... like purple), but coupled with that background, it's just... Let's just say I'm glad we don't have to fight them right now and wish you luck not getting assigned to LCxFWL front. :D

Naw. Look at the size of the arms. Add in the launch impulse and you want those big hooves to help your gyro counteract all that upper mass. Not counting armor, structure or heatsinks, you have OVER 50 tons of the mech above the waist. Closer to 65 tons when all is said and done.

might wanna adjust your color settings. I assure you, that mech is in manly DoDo Bird Lilac.

Sure, but from an esthaetic point of view, i´t say that those moonboots are a bit too long. OR i´d balance the hips with some bigger armorplates or something like this. Still a great work :3

Wish i could do that :<
