Is acquiring GXP intentional slow. I would like to unlock some of the pilot tree skills but i doubt I'll ever get enough GXP to unlock anything.

What is the best way to acrue GXP?

I played a match today, where my team won, I had 4 kill assists and 451 damage (highest on my team) and I only got 28 GXP for the match. Bringing my GXP total up to 727.
The cheapest skill costs 5000! Some are 15000. You'd have to play all day every day for months on end to buy one of those it seems like.

PGI wants you to spend MC on converting XP to GXP. That is why GXP acquisition is so slow.

It takes

300/three hundred matches of 1,000/one thousand xp each

to GAIN 15,000/fifteen thousand General xp

Three hundred thousand XP for 15,000 General xp

Posted Image

Personally i have unlocked fully (Without spending MC ) : Advanced zoom , Advanced Target retention , Advanced Sensor range , Advanced Target info gathering and one upgrade for coolshot 9 by 9

And i have been playing since closed beta/start of open beta

Honestly it seems the only way to acquire faster GXP is either to buy

Premium time
A hero mech

to boost your total XP gain per match

Then there's the alternative of converting XP to GENERAL XP through MC purchase

it cost's roughly 600 MC to convert 15,000 XP to 15,000 General XP as of now

With the 1 MC = 50 Xp sale converted it would most likely be less than 350 mc to convert 15,000 XP

Yes it is intentionally slow. Modules are supposed to be "end-game content." You should wait until you have unlocked a chassis fully (that is, Mastered it) and keep playing it and earning mech xp (keep playing a mech you like). Then, wait for xp conversion to go on sale (It should be 50% off). Then convert your extra 10,000 or so mech xp that you can't use for anything (because you unlocked everything already) and convert it directly to GXP (It's a 1:1 ratio so you'd suddenly be able to unlock a module or two). Xp conversion rates are not very expensive so if you can't wait for a sale, it would be ok to convert sooner, and you also don't have to wait until you've fully mastered the chassis; you do have to unlock all the basics though.

GXP is 5% of the XP made for the match. The only way to increase this is to run a Founders/Champion or Hero Mech that gives you a bonus XP for each Mech and this will also add a little to the GXP as it is taken from the total XP earned from the match.

The best time to earn GXP is when PGI give's bonus to Hero and Founder's Mechs on a weekend.

It is slow, but you can slowly build that up. If you wait for one of the weekends where they give double the rates of exchange for conversion then just make sure you have the Mech XP/MC stocked up to have a one-time go at it.

No Founder or Hero Mechs gives you any additional XP boni...only a Champion Mech does that.

Best way, apart from just farming all the time, usually is to convert when the MC/GXP rate is doubled, 300 MC for 15k is OK imo. And ofc premium time does increase cash/XP gain so you also gain additional GXP.

Ok, thanks all for the quick replies! I was unaware that we could convert xp -> gxp.
I'll wait for a sale weekend and try it out.
Thanks again.

Founder's mechs give a 25% bonus to XP and cbills, Hero mechs only give 30% cbill bonus.

I would say that OP's best bet is to wait for a sale (they happen about once a month) and convert a big ***** of extra XP. There are also a few consumables that can help you. Specifically the UAV (when timed right) can give a nice spotting bonus for you.

You know, I got 4 Founder Mechs and so far none of them has ever given me any XP bonus :)

The only thing in the Founder package that gave you an XP bonus, was the premium game time...

Edit:

take a look here...http://mwomercs.com/...age-on-sale-now

No XP bonus, sorry.

You can get a Champion mech, but the 10% isn't enough to worry about. Your best bet is to simply convert it with MC during one of the sales. That or grind grind grind.

Founder mechs DO NOT give any xp bonus, only c-bill one (25%).

To unlock skills in the pilot tree, use the Mech-specific XP! You get much more of that.

Keep in mind, when you unlock the pilot skills, you still need to purchase the (extremely expensive) components themselves to use them. So if you're new, don't rush it.

Oops, yes, pilot tree can be slow but you can always use MC to convert mech xp on maxed out variants to GXP.

well tbh 4 assists 451 dmg is pretty average, buy an atlas ddc and and try to get more kills where dmg is 600+ and kills 3++

GXP is slow to gather; premium time helps (if you have cash), as well as double XP weekends.

In general, all you have to do is play, play, play.. a lot, preferably winning. Since cb I gathered something like over 4.5 million xp, which is over 200k gxp (in like 5800 matches); I played only with roughly 1.5 months of PT (and I still have my founder premium).
After wasting it once for a bug (game used GXP for a master module instead of mech gxp), on all the arty modules, flushes, seismic, target info, decay, adv sensor range etc, I still have left over 120k gxp.

If you're at the beginning, there's not much to do unless keep playing; don't even bother about GXP, it's endgame stuff, or keep an eye on the offers, sometime they pulled out double xp weekends joined with either 3 days or 1 week of PT with 30 or 50% less, and if you happen in one of those weekends, gxp is boosted very nicely.
