The invention of the muzzle brake, one of the greatest ballistic weapon add-ons to ever exist. But no use in a gauss rifle as there is no gas propellant to be pushed through its vents.

Strictly speaking a
  • 1/10th of a ton projectile (10 rounds per ton, no gunpowder with the charge)
  • Moving faster than the US navy railgun can do
  • Made of Iron-Nickle Carbide (nickle steel)
could trash armor very quickly to my understanding,

Note he also said AC20 in what was quoted.

Point is this:

If a person wearing a bullet proof vest is shot in the chest with a 30-06 they are going to fall to the ground. The person firing the rifle will remain standing.

It's ludicrous to think that there is no recoil compensation on the gun mounts of a mech - gas based or otherwise.
