So this Dev Upateless month was declared by the Glorious ones to be full of Unicorn Spewing Awesomesauce! Here it is one week left and the only thing I see on the horizon is possibly a Volcano map and 12 man! Oh and did you know that there is one more day for the Phoenix package! July was initially, initally, and initially supposed to be phase 2 of CW. However not a word because hmmm we need UI 2.0.

So here I have been and I am sure with many others keeping an eye out for Command Chair updates and what do I see. Heat penalties for alphas. Um ok let 30,000 rage pages dictate how well tahts going (Personally not bothered by it but many others are). But still no inclining of the CW (Coming soon, soon, SPOON). Hey now though we get another map and mech and Sale after Sale."Remember last day for your Early Bird Phoenix Pack". Yet no CW. Had to vote on the SRM's that was cool and nobodies raging because they are where they should be. Thats one thing I saw in July that was new to the game.

So aside from 12 man and a SRM fix that we were supposed to get months ago what content release or at very least detailed information on CW are we getting this month?

Hey you the devs stated June was bland so this is just a question out of simple curiousity.

Say all you want, I'm having more fun in-game now than for the prior 3 months of poptart ing and sniping.

You left off the ability to pick your map in training grounds, I find that to be pretty cool.

*Edit* Also movement changes which I like for the realism aspect.

I've already used up my favorite zingers for the month:

Big things in August.

Big things in July 2014.

I guess the new answer to your statement is..

Big things in someone's near future.

Yep, for a feature that is used approximately 0.01% of the time I'm playing this game, it's pretty cool.

Hey I don't miss that either even though Snipings generally easy to avoid, but I don't put it under big things and the way it was done is causing quite a bit of rage.

Well, it's an upgrade to "can't ****ing drop on the map that I want to test my heat/jjs/build on".

It's indicative of the state of the game when people are celebrating features that are so basic that they should have been implemented to begin with. It's kind of like when people are celebrating that SRMs are no longer useless. Maybe my glass is half empty, but I kind of expected PGI not to render them useless to begin with.
Yay, they brought back the F9 function!

Cool beans.

One of my favorite mechs is an 8ml blackjack, and it hasn't bothered me.
Not being able to alpha 3 larges together is far more of an annoyance, really.

I think a lot of people are either terrible at utilizing multiple weapon groups, terrible at aiming multiple times in a 4 second period, or being drama queens on the Internet.

That Heat managements a Byatch ya know. :D my max groups have been three. Found four uncesssary. Group one arms 2 torso 3 cool down weapons. I kinda like the shutdown engine damage killed me once because I didnt realize I was down 4 DHS and kept overheating lol.

Apparently for some people it is.
My mechs run 30%-40% heat efficiency, and I don't have undue problems with overheating.

I clicked on this link, expecting a creative director update I hadn't seen before.

So the 7 pages of players talking about why there is no update .. yeah that was pretty disappointing, if not surprising.

What I find crazy is the people running around with a 20% or less heat eff and shutting down every 5 seconds because they have to fire a 60 alpha every fraking chance they get. Its painful to watch if your spectating and seeing the last guy shutting down every shot alphaing a mech that has significant damage and loosing the match because they are to impatiant to cool down or swith to one or two lasers. I undestand accidently doing it but you see people shut down 3-4 times and getting blasted themselves. That also begs to argue why the hell are they so fresh yet doing this crazyness? then you realize they are either glory whores, new or just suck.

I do think that they need to do a much better job about giving us a list of the major (and maybe some minor) things that they're working on and regularly (at least once a month) update us on the status. if an item's deadline gets delayed, they should add information about why it got pushed back and update with a new target date. While I'm definitely never one to scream about the sky falling, I would very much like to have some idea about where things stand, particularly when we're well past the initial target date.

If there's any one flaw that I think stands out for me, that's it. I don't stress to much that CW got pushed back because of UI 2.0 or even the pace in general. I just want to know when the new revised estimates are so we have a living, breathing rough timeline of what to expect when, directly and concisely delineated by the developers. I want a sense of the progress and big picture. Honestly, that would go a long way toward giving them a pass on not answering a million other posts.

At the very least, every single mech design should have one fire group that can be fired while cooling down, one group that costs less heat than the mech dissipates during the cooldown period for said group.
On top of that, big alphas should be saved for either opening salvos, or perfect shots. Wasting an alpha on an atlas' arm while he's twisted away is a criminal misuse of firepower.
