Typo? Or are you perhaps referring to another Mechwarrior title that was playable prior to the early 2012 playable release of MWO?

Also, @Koniving, thanks for the videos as always sir, they are great! :)

Added some past vids to the collection that were related, uploaded a new vid -- but since it's a past vid without the computer voices added in, I'm uploading another one too which'll be up in about an hour of posting this.

The new vids are called
Kon (MWO Classic Gameplay) | Footage used for the MW3 computer voice test.
and
Kon (MWO Classic Gameplay) | You Fell For It.

Vids are up!

Note: I also included the computer voice mockups, and the single player experience mockup. (It never got finished so it could use some polish that it'll never get).

I don't like the worst excesses of power-gamer influence on MWO, but in truth my play experiences since the first heat change have been great. I dabbled in the closed beta, got bored, came back recently and am pretty upbeat.

I can't help but wonder if by running light and medium 'Mechs that avoid the meta -- which is what I do -- one can largely escape the meta due to a suppressed rating.

Uploading the next classic vid (as well as several newer ones).

This one is titled: "A Close Call" and involves a standard engine Jenner with small pulse lasers (chainfired due to heat issues on Frozen City!) and LRMs from August 27th, 2012. Since it was last in the queue, it will be up within an hour of this post.

Another. I'm jumbling dates. This one hasn't got a fancy title. But it was a time when AC/40 Catapults absolutely had to run some lasers on the side.

got any vids before they added the distance filter? those were the days when u could see across the maps, and enjoy how well made the maps were. got to show off to the new ppl of what this game was before they stated to add all the things that "improve" the game.

Depth of Field? Pretty sure you can turn that off, if not in the options than in the cfg. If you meant film grain, that can be 'turned off' too.

You can turn depth of field and film grain off, but you're not supposed to. I doubt it can be detected but it's considered an exploit to get an advantage.

The earliest vids I have which weren't deleted due to low view counts or other reasons were converted on October the 8th.

Which is uploading right now with an ETA of 30 minutes after this post is made. It'll be on the same playlist as on the first page, or you can use this link. 21 minutes to make up for not uploading for a bit, complete with commandos getting thrown around, the infallible streak cat of invincibility-- failing epically because streaks only hit about 60% of the time and requiring skill, and more! With repair and rearm, many people aren't using XL engines, and thus heatsink counts are low, keeping people between 40 and 50 heat capacity (versus the current maximum we can get which is 88.56 after all unlocks with 27 DHS on any Victor).

Yay!

Indeed. Repair and rearm did a lot for balancing, even with the problems of the core heat system that still exist. But there were some problems with it.

I've had thoughts on an acceptable way to reinstate it. But I'm certain PGI won't listen.
