I'm no veteran, founder or whatever but have nearly 1500 matches to my name but one thing that keeps cropping up repeatedly is people, usually after they got killed (usually not by me), pop up and say "nice cheese build" possibly with a few profanity's - sorry tell a lie - usually with a lot.

Anyway moving on, at first I wasnt sure what this meant but i might have nailed it so;

Cheese build:

Basically it means your oponent who just kicked your *** back to the stone age was;

1) Clever enough to build and configure a Mech you could only dream of.
2) Completely out whit you on the battlefield in a far inferior mech. Quote "OMG did that really just kill me."
3) Tactically out play you so bad you would be lucky to beat Steven Hawking on the battlefield with no weapons.
4) Your a bad loser - sorry poor excuse for a mech pilot.
5) No way! I have that same mech but I can't do as well as that. . . it must be Cheddar.

At the end of the day declaring "Cheese build" means tells me one thing "If your eating a sandwich you made watch you dont put the buttered knife in your eye cos maybe you could be a bit special."

Each mech has hard points to use, which makes every mech diverse and adds a whole lot of depth to the gameplay. If someone builds a beats you with a mech you want to declare as cheese then get someone else to make that sandwich - otherwise it will only end in painful tears. And don't mention 6 ppc stalkers, they are over - the new heat rules are a great move.

You say Cheese I say "LOSER"

P.S. PGI how about a new cockpit item, oh yes, a nice big cheese slice with LOSER carved into it!! - hell I'll pay good MC for a weapon that can fire cheese at these Losers and still WIN lol.

I'd buy that one and set it right on my dash for every mech! :(

Perhaps a cheesehead hat? Combo with the "calling someone that cares". I just ignore the whiners.

Six ppc stalker still works, you just have to time that .5 second gap and you can still drop 60 damage on a mech and ruin its day in two seconds. Makes me wonder if you fire all six do you just explode instead of shutting down... Would be quite comical

Four ppc's is still considered cheese, I had my HGN-733P out the other day and was still wrecking **** with it while the ppc's were in chain fire.

Anyway moving on, at first I wasnt sure what this meant but i might have nailed it so; Cheese build: Basically it means your oponent who just kicked your *** back to the stone age was; 1) Lacking in skill so you build something that requires a single button push 2) Had your opponent distracted with your bud's cheesebuild while you trounced close enough to press the button one time. Quote "OMG did that really just kill me." 3) Used no tactics at all because walking to within 270m (or 810m or 1500m) and pressing the button once time takes absolutely no tactical thought. 4) You're not a poor loser, you're a poor winner that relies on cheese instead of skill to win 5) No way! I have that same mech but I prefer a fun and challenging came as opposed to a button click. . . it must be fumunda. At the end of the day declaring "Cheese build" means tells me one thing "I can't win without playing something that deals massive damage in a single button press because if I had to think and move I'd probably have an brain embolism as I don't normally use it all that often." Each mech has hard points to use, which makes every mech diverse and adds a whole lot of depth to the gameplay. Well, as it happens I just tried it on the River City test map. It's not a setup I run but I managed to end up with a heat efficiency of 1.06 using all spare slots filled with Double Heat sinks and a STD 210 Engine. Skill wise I've unlocked Master so that includes 2 x Coolrun and Heat containment.

1st volley - Instantly shut down for 30 seconds, 2nd volley again shut down for 30 seconds, 3rd volley exploded violently lol. Now that's what I call NERFED - awesome stuff. That was with waiting for the heat to fully dissipate between shots.

The ER PPC should be even better :)

It did strike me as a tad unimaginative to go down the 6 Ppc rout. But hey it wasn't a cheat it was legal (its still legal - just throttled back)

BUT

Many folks didn't do it and not all of them died. Point of fact I LOVED seeing a 6 PPC stalker in My Raven 4x. Poor things rarely had a chance if I got in close. Couldn't turn on me couldn't hit me without shutting down.. But that was the breaks trying that build.

No I salute all the players that win. Maybe its luck but more likely its skill. Skill in finding a loop hole in the build rules if nothing else!

But yeah I'd pay for a slice of cheddar to put on my cockpit! Preferably one that flashes when more than 2 PPC's goes off from a single mech LOL!
