I've noticed more and frustrations and general complaining about tactics in this game. To those of you who get frustrated because something or other killed you and feel the need to complain about it, please do it here in the forums. It's so pointless to see "{DEAD} you F--king Morons!!!" when you are trying to beat the enemy, especially when it's coming from a recently dead team mate. Complain here and make suggestions.
Never drop a complaint on someone without having a suggestion to follow.
Yes, it irks me that most of the time, we all head in out 2 or 3 different directions when we all know that the most successful teams seem to stay in a general position that is advantageous to their strengths. GLHF

I generally try not to rage, but when someone makes a tactical mistake, in-game is precisely the time to mention it, while the event is fresh in their minds.
When I see 4 atlases goof around through cave and not flank the enemy while they're busy slaughtering the rest of their team on ridgeline (and aren't even trying to go cap), it's a good time to remind them of the folly of removing 70% of the team's firepower from the fight.
Especially when they're then being hunted down piecemeal after the rest of their team got ganked 2 to 1.

The main one I find myself mentioning is that LRM's do nothing under their minimum range. That one is annoying and since it's probably explained nowhere in the game (at least nowhere that a new player would see), I can't really fault them, but they need to know.
Oh, and turn off arm lock! Nothing more painful than watching a Highlander be circle-strafed to death as he slowly rotates... his Gauss or AC20 just never quite able to line up on target since his arms can't move freely. Again - never explained to new players and a horrible way to die, so I mention it.

LRM's don't do DAMAGE under their minimum range, but that doesn't mean they do NOTHING.
My favorite 'Mech is a Stalker 3H. If I get jumped, the very first thing I do is drop a salvo of LRM's in my attacker's face. It won't hurt him, but it DOES rattle the cockpit and obscure vision. Its the gang fired medium lasers that do the hurting.

"Tactical advice" should always be welcome. "Don't just stand there, you f*cking moron," "You can't shoot for sh*t," or "OMG RU STUPID?" is not tactical advice. I'm kind of immune to it, myself, having gotten past both my just stand there/can't shoot phase (although I'm still pretty stupid ) as well as my surprise at the misplaced frustration of those who got cored 30s into the match who insult their teammates for not playing well. It's just part of the MWO experience, sadly.

I'm still kind of new at this, so I do try to pay attention to other teammates who try to offer advice. Since most people don't have time or fingers to type advice while alive, I am willing to commune with the departed. Just the other morning a couple of teammates tried to help me out when I was the last man on our team. They were patient and positive, unfortunately my fps was extra-horrible that morning, as well as 'laggy.' So I couldn't pull it out. The point is they put forth an effort to help without being jerks, and I listened.
What most who offer "advice" should realize is that when someone takes a split second to take their eyes off the action and look at the chat, as soon as they see profanity or other insults, they dismiss it as rage-based and therefore worthless. If you're willing to delay the sharing of your advice so you can keystroke "dumba*ss," how important can that that advice be?

I'll occasionally say something like "time to go cap" if only one or two of our guys are still alive and say 4+ of the enemy is still out their hunting them. But having seen so much flame - almost always from folks that get shot out much earlier than anyone else I also tend to ignore chat now.
I hope that when some kind of lobby is introduced that a team gets at least a minute to throw out some basic advice/tactics before the mechs start rollin'. At best right now "enemy at f6" is all I see most often. Usful, but hardly a tactical outline.
The text flame mongers make me wonder if they are the reason PGI seems to have taken a backseat on integrating voice coms. Who needs to be shouted at by another player, the text is bad enough..

One of the most common complaints that I see raged during the last month or so occurs during Assault matches. With very little exception, I find that when an enemy team is 1-2 mech's up on my team, and I am standing on the enemy base (usually with my cap acellerator module) ... I start seeing:
"GET OFF THE BASE AND COME FIGHT F*GG^T"
"That's Gutless"
"Go Play Conquest you Chickensh*t"
"Coward"
... and the list goes on...
To which I usually Reply:
"Win Condition 1 - Cap Enemy Base"
And when the rain of complaint continues.... I share the end result
<Gofer> win
<Gofer> win
<Gofer> win
<Gofer> win
<Gofer> win
<Gofer> win
<Gofer> win
Fade to black.
The lesson here is that even in Assault games, the first win condition is to NOT LOSE YOUR BASE...
Those who ignore this fact should re-evaluate what they believe is a winning strategy.
When we drop together next,
Shoot straight... Just not at me.
