I think the image posted by the OP is supposed to look somewhat like the Guillotine mech:

I will grant that there is similarity in the face, but that is about it.

LOL I haven't seen that movie in ages...but, now that you mention it, the old-school martians DO look like the Guillotine cockpit...and they even have those shoulder pauldron things (although they're more wrinkly than my...than Clint Eastwood).

Ah, the 1950s version of War of the Worlds. That movie actually is still good today. One of my favorites as a kid.

I still think the book was amazing...especially the bit where the main character realizes that, even with their advanced technology, the Martians apparently never invented the wheel.
