So this is definitely a good post with direction on what you're looking at and where the game is going, but (there's always a but!) there's very careful wording to not mention dates or hard times. understandable, but the tones of some of the sentences definitely makes it seem like CW and UI 2.0 might not happen until after launch.

So that brings me to my question. If launch doesn't include CW or UI 2.0, what is launch?

TL;DR:
1. Tera Therma map July 30th
2. CW being worked on. No detail as to when
3. DirectX11 and 3PV to the test servers soon.
4. MPL and LPL being worked on ETA: Soon
5. New quirks for mediums and lights ETA: Soon

I was just thinking the same. Personally I'm pleased with the update and it seems PGI is full steam ahead towards launch. Looking forward to testing the features in the public test server.

Good to see pulse weapons are being addressed. Looking forward to a new map and that PPC change. And so glad to see mediums are getting a look. But lights don't need anything else. They're already pretty well represented in every match I go into. There is always a light on a team. If not usually 2. But I've seen up to 4 or 5 lights. And despite the weight difference, they win, obviously through sheer coordinated effort. Like watching a pack of wolves bring down a buffalo or something.

Appreciate the effort to communicate with us.

So, uh this,summer,update doesn't really update anything. Looks like my $80 is going into other games. I had really hoped this update with give us an actual timeline or update on the game, not just state the same thing stated months before.

PGI i REALLLY want to give you my money, but it appears you don't want it. Fair enough.

How can people say they didn’t tell us anything!?
We now know:
1.) there are 1 million registered users. They are usually pretty tight with business numbers
2.) We know they kept their expectations low regarding the charity drive. That’s either being conservative or insulting – not sure which, maybe both.
3.) The team of 40+ is split between dealing with current issues and meeting new feature deadlines. I take it both are focused on UI 2.0 and CW.
4.) Three distinct aspects of CW – well at least we have their names and an idea of how they fit into the big picture, which so far has been pretty vague.
5.) They are going to be putting a lot of stuff on the test server and even teased with Clan-tech
6.) Terra Therma map on the 30th – maybe that was already known and I didn’t get the memo.
7.) PPC’s getting a heat increase
8.) Drop weight limits and agility buffs to help lights and mediums are actually on the horizon and not just being demanded.
9.) DirectX 11 headed to test server. That should have people doing back flips of joy.
10.) The stuff I missed.

Not bigger engines, just movement speed increase...

Thanks for the update. Some promising stuff in there. The game has improved a lot recently and kudos to PGI. Not sure how I feel about encouraging more capping and I am really not looking forward to 3rd person (would be nice to have some detail on what you can/cant see in 3rd person). But overall very positive.
