Over the last little while I have been asking at the start of every battle if anyone is buying into the phoenix project and any yes I get the the question generally pertains to the acquisition of a Battlemaster mech in the overlord pack.

I wanted to know if anyone is instead purchasing one of the lesser packs for a favored mech other then the battlemaster?

I always liked the Tbolt better than the battle master, but I bought overlord so I could have them all because I always loved all of them. And because I already have all the mechs in the game and I want to keep up with that.

Well, I bought in for the Shadow Hawk.
I bought into Overlord generally because for an extra $40 there was a heck of a lot of added content.

My two favorite mechs from the Original mechwarrior: Shadow Hawk, and Battlemaster. I'll up my package from storm to overlord next payday.

Overlord. I like them in reverse order. Locust the most, battlemaster a close 4th.

I purchased Overlord, and while the Battlemaster is indeed my favorite, I am very much excited about all four of these 'Mechs!

To be honestly, none are my favorites however they all look like they will be fun mechs and you can't argue with the value. Hell the premium time and slots alone would cost 13,600 MC alone. That is what $60-$65 dollars right there. Then on top of that I get 4 hero mechs and 8 other standard mechs for the remaining $15-$20. Hell the question should be why aren't you buying the Overlord Pack?

Plus the 12 mechbay slots, which would run another 3600MC, and the cockpit doodad.

I bought overlord, though not for the battlemaster... I actually like the Locusts and Thunderbolts, while the Shadowhawk is ok, and I couldn't really care less about the Battlemaster. At $60 already though, it didn't make much sense not to go all out...

Sadly a while ago information came out that the mechbays cannot be used for other mechs (& you cannot sell the phoenix mechs or their non-hero versions). Which limits the appeal of that aspect a bit.

You can sell the non hero variants in the phoenix package to free up the mechbay,they have stated this.

my only dissappointment was the poor locust choice, 3 energy and 2 ballistic would be a lot nicer than what we got.

I bought Overlord bcs the Value is great - i see forward to test the Shadow Hawk.

If your going buy the Overlord or Guardian is the best package.

The Locust: at 20tons is not worth it fun little throw in toy to play with. ER large laser, 4 MG, 1 ton of ammo, AMS, and 1 ton of AMS ammo. The rest Speed.

Shadowhawk: While it was a cool looking. The Shadowhawk had weapon issues on the TT, and hardpoint: issues in MechWarrior online. It has the combined issues of the Centurion and the Hunchback. No weapons on the Left arm, One torso having all the ballistic slots. So if you lose the right side you lose 75% of your weapons leaving you with a cannon and SRM or LRM in the head. (Right is right when shooting at!)

Thunderbolt: is a solid brawler. It will be a nice fast up close and personal mech.

Battlemaster: Is the next wave in laser or PPC boats its got 7 energy slots with 2 ballistics for Gauss or Ac 20 Plus you can slap a LRM 20 on it just for fun.

I bought Overlord, though mostly I was looking at the Shadow Hawk. I doubt I will play the Locust since I don't seem to do too well in light mechs. The Tbolt looks like it will have 'Hunchback Syndrome' with it's shoulder, so how good will it be? Battlemaster could be fun- most assault mechs minus the Awesome are.
