Hey there, I just bought a new PC and got the same problem. You are missing some important programm which is needed to run the launcher.
When I found out which one it was, then I will write it here

I installed .NET, DirectX and C++ still no success ;o

For starters, run the shortcut "as administrator" which you can do by right-clicking on it, or by modifying the shortcut.

Second, you need to ensure you have direct x 9c, .net framework, etc.

Try installing the following:
DirectX http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=35
Visual C++ http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=5555
.NET http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=22

I'm having the same issue. I launch the game, as an admin, and the MWO logo comes up on the screen. Then the icon changes and the program now calls itself "MechWarrior Online Bootstrap Patcher". It stays up for a while, then the name states that it is no longer responding and asks if I want to close the program or wait for it to respond. The bootstrap_patcher_log file states "7/27/2013 2:55:50 PM - main - Config file: D:\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\PatchBot.cfg

you have a whole other problem; you have a registry error that has put an extra \ into one of he filepaths. Look closely D:\\MWOUpdate\patchFiles\

I have the fix for that here somewhere, hold on...

The fix I read previously for this issue can be found here http://mwomercs.com/...37#entry2267937 note that it does involve monkeying around with the registry and contains a disclaimer. If you do not feel comfortable with that solution, then please send your details to support@mwomercs.com

I wonder if you have a firewall or other sort of networking issue preventing you from maintaining a connection. Check out your firewall settings if you have access to them. I would contact the gamemasters at support@mwomercs.com

What do you mean by freezes? As in stop doing anything, stuck on one particular screen? Which screen?

Have you uninstalled MWO and reinstalled it?

We're aware of an issue introduced in this week's patch resulting in a number of players being unable to launch the game from the patcher.
The cause of this has been identified and a fix is in the works to be released as soon as possible.
This issue is affecting users with AMD processors and Avast antivirus.
The workaround:
-Completely un-install Avast
-Restart the computer
-Launch the game (it will work)
Please note that we do not endorse not having an antivirus application, however this is currently the only workaround available.
I will personally suggest AVG as a free antivirus solution that won't cause issues with the game - note this is not an official endorsement, just a suggestion from a gamer.
If I made a mistake and the above does not apply to you, please send me a reply and I will address your issue more directly. We simply want to catch this particular event as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your understanding.

An updated temporary workaround is to disable the Hardware-assisted visualization in the Avast! that is used in its sandbox (virtual drive to test exes).
