Well if you should name a mech that stand for House Steiner it would surely be the ZEUS.
OK we seem to get the Commando too but even if that is are main light mech it just doesn't really stand for House Steiner.
After putting in a lot of the so well known mechs like the Atlas etc. the developers should maybe check the factions to give every faction their "Totem" mech.

Not sure what mech the other factions use(I guess Kuritas mech would be the Dragon but the rest is unknown to me) but I'm sure every faction has his "Totem" mech that simple stand for that faction.

You'll have to get used to Marys and Snakes in Zeus' and Commandos, as well as Elsies and Liaos in Dragons and such. There are no faction-exclusive 'Mechs in MWO.

I wasn't talking about exclusive mechs, in a game(MWO & BT) were mechs can be a battlefield loot there is alway a chance that a mech from this side of the IS ends up on the other side.

I simply speak of mechs that stand for a faction, just like the German stands for Steiner, the Samurai for Kurita, etc. there are some mechs that stand for a faction and it would be nice if we would get those, the sooner the nicer.

I'd bet, your Zeus is on the Releaselist.
Not so much for my favorite: The Battlemaster ;)

Other Mechs I would want to see are:
- Wolfhound(I'd even change my affiliation to Mercenary, if I can get it painted in Kell Hound colors)
- Tomahawk & Axman(probably not in, unless they implement Mechmelee)
- Javelin & Enforcer(iconic Davions)

Don't blame the devs for not having a BattleMaster. Blame Harmony Gold.

Perhaps a Zeus for a Lyran but it's an Atlas for a Steiner. Which are you?

Explain that, we prefer heavier mechs but just because our area was always a producer of heavier mechs.

I think more mechs of any kind is a good thing. There is probably a person who would rather have a cyclops for every person that would want a zues (for example). Maybe a pool by the devs where we could vote for the next mech would be nice. But really, I think any mech added to the game is a good addition.

I've been waiting to see the Zeus announced since November. Totally with you OP, the Atlas is just as Drac as it is Lyran, even more so in 3049. We've got so far the Commando, we need to see some of the love the other houses have been getting with all their iconic designs.

Which mecha from Robotech was the Battlemaster based off of? For the life of me I cannot recall. :D

Hmm...totem mechs. I know Clans totem mechs better than IS.

House Steiner: Eisenfaust
House Kurita: Hatamoto Chi & Shiro (3130)
House Liao: Yu Huang
House Davion: I believe Jagermech III
House Marik: Not sure of it.

Technically, the signature mech for Steiner should be the Griffon.

Failing that, yes, it would be nice to have the Zeus.

The Griffin guards the throne but I think that changed or will change, not sure who guards the throne then.

All of these are wrong. Also the Eisenfaust is embarrassingly bad.

Zeus, Dragon, Vindicator, Enforcer, Orion.

Victor replaces them with a Marauder and Crusader painted in the colors of the Kathil Uhlans and the Kell Hounds after his mother explodes. I'm rather surprised he managed to stay Archon as long as he did.

Then Katherine replaces them with Hauptmann omnis. Say what you will about her, it was pretty much the smartest move anyone can make, because nothing says "don't screw with me" like having a 95-ton OmniMech on each side of you that has wraparound shades and a cigar laser.

From 01621 House Steiner

Quote

Light lances in the Commonwealth usually have at least one COM-2D Commando BattleMech. Manufactured by Coventry Metal Works, these Mechs are popular among MechWarriors both for their capabilities and their reliability. They are fast becoming as common as Stingers and Wasps in House Steiner’s Light and Recon lances.

The LCAF has shown little interest in organizing Medium lances, which is why Lyran units contain the usual hodgepodge of Phoenix Hawks, Griffins, Shadow Hawks and less common designs in the 35- to 55-ton range. It is unknown whether the Steiner commanders will decide to incorporate the highly specialized HCT-3T Hatchetmen into front-line units or to reserve them for city garrison duties because of the ‘Mechs obvious urban combat abilities.

According to ComStar operatives in the Commonwealth military, there are new Davion-made DV-6M Dervish ‘Mechs now appearing among Steiner units. It is assumed that their sudden appearance is another example of the new alliance between the two states at work.

Heavy lances, the backbone of Lyran ‘Mech regiments, have no real philosophy behind their composition. All heavy units are equipped with a wide variety of BattleMechs in the 60- to 75-ton range. Many of these ‘Mechs are of Commonwealth manufacture and are usually in near-peak fighting condition.

All Commonwealth assault lances are centered around the ZEU-6S Zeus and AS7-D Atlas Assault ‘Mechs. The pride of the LCAF, the Atlas and Zeus have proven the bane of many an enemy that came up against their deadly combinations of firepower.

So to summarize:
Lights: Commandos
Assaults: Zeus, Atlas
