I've have tried many times to make my PB work well since buying it way back when. It just isn't a good mech by any standard. Will some developer please spend some time fixing them (Awesomes)? I can outperform the AWS-PB in my dragons, cents, lights.. just about every other mech I own.

Can? Yes.

Will? No.

At least, not for the forseeable future.

Caveat Emptor

Before you bought the mech you should have done a calculation of how many PPCs, ER PPCs, and Gauss Rifles it can mount.

Remove ridiculous deceleration nerf.

Add an extra hardpoint, more tubes or an extra module slot - your choice.

Even if you put a laser slot in the CT (so it could not fit a PPC) then that would be something.

The Pretty Baby was introduced when the one of the main issues forumites had was that Hero Mechs would be pay to win and it was deliberately released broken to appease the angry mob.

Imagine those halcyon days when that was all we had to worry about!

We seem to have got over that obsession and moved on to other concerns. Since the PB we have had Misery and the Heavy Metal. Extremely powerful mechs that we did not bat an eyelid over. The time is right to give PB her due.

I love Awesomes (I know, I know) and I have hovered over the "buy" button on the PB every time it goes on sale - but I just refuse to buy it in its current state.

As someone who doesn't own the pretty baby, please buff it so that I actually see it in game again

This.

And I would be a happy PB owner. :)

Bringing the missile tubes up to at least 4 would be nice too.

Im pretty disappointed with the mech too, it needs one more hardpoint for energy, CT would be awesome
the PB just isnt intimidating in any way and it lacks in firepower...

I haven't seen one in months. If it wasn't for these random sales, I would have thought they removed it entirely. What a horrificly awful mech. It most certainly needs to be looked over and fixed.

All Awesomes need a trip to the fitness center to slim down a notch. Maybe the PB needs some extra love, but I can't say that for sure. Not seeing anyone use them could be a sign, though.

Hi!
I am currently running:
ER-PPC (could be swapped for LPL or regular) (Arm)
2 MPL
3xSRM6+Art (3 Tons)
340xl
18 DHS
AMS

Works great for me so far, you can drop a few heat sinks for a bigger engine if you like.
Yes, Its a brawler build, run it like a medium, engage only targets you can kill, don't go toe to toe with other assaults with out backup.

Run Away if this are likely to go bad.

Too bad about the PB. I like my AWS-8R though so please don't change that. With 4 srm 6 slots and 3 mpls it is deadly when brawling. Especially if I can catch a ppc freak from behind. I've had people accuse me of using hacks before because it does so much damage.

I agree its tough to make work. The only success I have had is with 3 SRM6's and 3 MLAS. I just brawl with it. Its not great, but workable. I like quirky mechs though, so my expectations are low. My Founders Hunch still out plays it though.

That's the reason I didn't bought it. I like PB but...

They need to change the right arm to a ballistic hardpoint...

Pretty similar to a Victor and not many complain about them.

However upon looking that the hardpoint layout on the PB, I got to say....OUCH!!!

it does pretty much suck. The hardpoints are so spread out and in alot of useless places like the head.

Ok for once I will agree with the masses. PB could use a buff. Add another Energy point to the LT and it would be ok though.

My big question though it, WHY DID ANYONE BUY THIS THING? Didn't they look at the hardpoint or use something like Smurfy's to see how bad it was first?

Some people see it as a challenge to take a bad mech and make good. :)

The Awesome is an iconic mech after all and the Pretty Baby is the Hero of the bunch.

'tis a pity she's a *****.

1Add one missile hardpoint to the arm and 2 laser hardpoints to the CT
OR
2Move the missile hardpoints from the arm to the torso and add a ballistic hardpoint to the left arm.

P.S.: I like 2 more even though i don't own a PB

Its hitboxes are the primary reason why a lot of people think the Awesomes are bad robots, which sucks because I think it's one of the more iconic robots in BattleTech. :)

The deceleration nerf is the biggest issue with PB for sure. The hardpoints suck - but they're workable. If you compare PB to the Dragonslayer (which it should be equivalent to), its not even in the same zip code. Dragonslayer can run strong loadouts, can run the biggest engine, and has jets... With no silly negative (debilitating for PB), maneuverability nerfs. I've chalked mine up as a $30 loss. I have no reason to run it when my Victors are all fully superior in every way.
