I don't understand, my fireband can carry that but not this catapult?? They have the same tonnage?

Even if I get rid of all the stuff in the catapult, I can't install it???

What I'm doing wrong?

You did buy the -K2 variant... right?
And the AC2's go in the side torsos, not the arms. Figured I might just state the obvious (kinda like, make sure it's plugged in.) to make sure. I don't have a problem with putting ac2's in my K2, so if you did do what you said, take everything out (even your engine) there's no reason why it shouldn't fit - (unless it's not a K2, or you're trying to put it elsewhere. :))

you need to post your build, we cant see what upgrades youve added that take weight or slots, i think you can squeeze 2 ac2s and 2 erppcs and 2 med lasers.i think mine had that layout recently.now i have maybe 2ac5s and 4 med.

Firebrand has Endo Steel upgrade as default. Maybe you are missing it on your Catapult?

Either that or you have different engine.

You can change out the ppc for er ppc, and if you don't want them in the arms you can swap a Double Heat sink in the side torsos for the ppc in the arms

I don't get it, I got rid of everything on the mech, the fireband has a better engine.
And I can't get the 2 ac2 with the 2 er ppc.

Maybe it's the armor upgrade.

Anyway, I have 2 ac5 now and I think I prefer that.

The firebrand comes stock with an XL engine and Endosteel, both causing major changes in the mech's overall free weight available.

The AC/5 are probably better for that build anyway - AC/2 run hot. Might be worth it to scrounge up some tons for UAC/5.

I'm not sure the issue..

me personally i have dual Ultra AC-5's, and 2 PPC's (not ER)

If i dropped to AC-2's, i could easily fit the ER version..

I have a XL-285 engine, and endo steel.. Mech works pretty good, though i'm still learning to drive it

ER and normal PPCs take up the exact same space so you could fit them in your current build lol

I don't get it, myself.
You could install 2 AC5s, but not AC2s?
lolcat has a skeptical

...But, I agree that you're probably better off with AC5s. They don't run as hot.

Not every mech can equip the same items. Even if they are the same tonnage. These are not Omni-mechs. The hardpoints are different for each model. The difference between model is not merely appearance...they handle differently, have different ranges of motion, have different numbers of slots available, ect..

If they have the same hardpoints, you can usually mount the same weapons though. This may involve some expensive modifications though, such as swapping out engines or adding/removing options like Endo-steel.

There is more differences between mechs of the same tonnage than mere appearance...they really are treated as completely different vehicles.

Is this what you're looking for?

If so, it's only possible because of 3 upgrades, Double Heat Sinks, Endo Steel, and an XL engine. The Firebrand comes stock with these upgrades already which is why it pulls it off and the stock (no upgrades) K2 can't.

I know all that. It must be the engine and the armor upgrade. I should check this out.

But anyway, I don't care. I prefer 2 ac5.

I had just from the beginning that it might be the lack of changing the engine.
