testing for the 30th patch

Seismic Sensor Ranges are being adjusted. Current values are 180m for basic and 250m for advanced. This is down from 200m and 400m respectively.

20meters can be accepted, but 400 to 250m ( 150m nerf ) whatta ..........

Rename this game to Battlenerf !!!

I'd rather have no patch at all than this one.

Well, I really enjoyed my 4 LL Stalker. It wasn't overpowered, but it was effective. But now that I can't run that anymore without a penalty, I guess its 2 ER PPC/Gauss?

Also the SRMs are now really confusing. If you're going to link all SRMs together, can we make the limit the same on all of them?

So did I my 5LL stalker. It wasn't overpowered at all... it just got killed by collateral damage it seems....

I agree about the SSensor range. We wanted it a little less effective but not cut in half esp. at the price we had to pay for it. I hope they give us some money back or something. I'm also confused and disappointed about this update. I guess I was hoping for CW or soemthign to get me back into the game.

Not to bad, exept maybe the LL/LPL/ERLL issue.

Guys, regarding the PPC heat read the command chair post before you complain.

Hope you guys all like the 2x PPC 1x Gauss meta game, because that's the Alpha strike you're going to keep seeing for the rest of MWO's life.
...
When Phoenix launches, or any new mechs come out, the only question you need to ask yourself is - can I fit two PPCs and a Gauss Rifle on it?

You made my day. ;)

Air/Artillery Strikes could be doubled in size, damage, shells, number,.... still be useless . Does MWO have any stats on how many pilots have used an air strike, how much damage has been done, or how many kills? My guess; Lots, very little and none.

I get the LL/ERLL, but I do not understand the LPL.

There is your mistake. It's just there to reduce boating. Side effect = less pin point alphas shot, because most of them were boats.

Well... Then why does the change not affect the ability to boat weapons in any possible way, but does affect the ability to alpha strike them? And why for example the man behind the plan calls it "heat scale on high weapon count alphas" and not for example "heat scale on high weapon count boating"? Also, boating isn't even a problem if it's not made the overwhelmingly best and most effective way to play because of the game design. Which it is because of pinpoint alpha ability, not because you can carry many same type weapons in a 'mech.

the LPL does 0.4 less dmg than an ER PPC, generates less heat and fire more often. While it doesn't have the range, this has made it quite powerful (especially 2+ of then) on a brawler. that being said I don't think they were overpowered - they felt balanced

Ah great, all the LRM boats are dead, even more new people will be chainfiring, and I can still smack people in the face with 45 damage alpha's, lovely.

Thanks Paul!

Agreed. The heat scale system punishes weapons that werent a problem while all the problem weapons remain unhindered. In other words it did absolutely nothing but make the problem even worse. Because now that LL, SRMs, and LRMs are nerfed all thats left for us to use is PPC/Gauss.
They are fixing the problem before it becomes one. As the community has shown over time it just moves on to the next thing they can manipulate the most out of because we all gots to be uber tryhards to win win win. I think most people forget that battletech was always about the mixed load outs. Mechs were rarely optimized for a specific role because you never really knew the situation, so you had to be ready for anything. I'm also not telling you to be like the asinine person who posted about table top and bringing one of each weapon. Lots of people just cant deal with more then 3 weapon groups though. Which is one of the main reasons you see a lot of boats.

Ok I think this statement needs to be put forth for you all: MechWarrior Online is in beta right now. BETA!

This means that it will have some nerfs/buffs that will not make sense to you, but will later on sometimes. They may have a new mech coming out at or after release that can run lots of large lasers, and it needs to have those in place.

Maybe there are programming issues with separating the SRM6 and SRM4's out there. It may put undue stress on how the game client calculates heat, and would greatly (by that I mean lag you offline)effect performance.

It's a beta and they may be preparing for next weeks patch when they smooth out the edges, and nerf the PPC/Gauss combo to the dirt. If that meta gets thrown out then the LL/LPL nerf will make sense since it would be the new problem to deal with. Nerf it while it's not popular, so when the PPC/Gauss nerf hits the fan you'll be forced into different setups and might have to actually.... I dunno.... Think of other interesting builds? Oh and not be upset when they nerf it AFTER it's popular.

I think the heat scaling changes are fair. Why combine PPCs and ERPPCs into the same type but not LLs? And that's why PGI did it. Makes sense.

As for the 2xPPC + GR builds. Bah, whatever. The GR is a glass cannon easy to crit, ERPPC's have heat issues and PPCs have range issues. I've dealt with these builds and they rarely beat me because of the firepower alone. If I get beat by them it is because I made a mistake or they had better tactics.

I don't think the SRMs are confusing at all. I get it, others get it and have explained it here several times. No need for me to repeat their work.

I find all the boaters whining about the heat scale very funny. So that splatcat now has to choose between a 3rd alpha with a heat penalty or firing group 1, then group 2 HALF A SECOND LATER! LOL! Or waiting a few more seconds to cool down and say, I dunno, using terrain to reposition and cool before going back into the fray. Making mountains out of mole hills.

Still keep it up you crying boaters, I haven't been this entertained since ECM came out.

TBH I think we these changes on alphas it would be better to simply have heat alphas count within X amount of seconds, as all they are doing is pushing the current issue onto chain firing, rather than fixing it

Guys I hear alpha striking small pulse and ppc's will be the new dominate meta. Start using it before it gets nerfed like the LPL/LL disaster. We barely survived that OP tragedy.

It won't be Mechwarrior 4 until they add the Daishi, so you naysayers can just pack it in!!!
