How about refunds to people that have bought and leveled up Hunchback 4-P's, Catapult A-1's, Catapult C-4's, Awesome 8-Q's, and Awesome 9-M's? Since these mechs have had what they were actually designed to due nerfed to death.

Poor job by the developers at PGI for ruining these mechs.

How about people learn to group their weapons instead of firing only alpha-strikes?

Personally I think the system is clunky, but I'll live with it. I would prefer that ERLL/LL be bumped to 3 however. They are already DoT, and while 5 LL Cataphracts were a nasty boat, they were uncommon. TBH, I could see it even being raised to 4, but I would be satisfied with 3. 2 is right out.

Big agree. Not my choice solution, but it will do.
Also big agree,on ll. I think 3 is a sweet spot. They're already hot and three is a reasonable weapon group for dots. More importantly, a single ll is useless if you are not a light, so you need three to make odd numbers of ll viable and generally, with a cap of two, it just forces everyone to use ppcs. E.g., highlanders with three lasers in one location. Two ll and an ml is awful, two ll is not using weight to tonnage right, so you end up with two ppcs being the only viable heavy energy weapons in those builds and completely ignoring the third energy slot.

Quite frankly, 3 ll are balanced against 2 ppcs. 2 ll are not. And Lpl are really big medium lasers not something you would group with larges so I see the point of not allowing three large pulse given. Their short firing time and higher base damage, but don't see that as a justification for a 2 large cap for normal and er.

I'd search the tech support forum, you probably need to scrub every last trace of the game from your system.

I agree with most of your post. The part I bolded is the only thing that I don't. LPLs should also be at 3 because they sacrifice range and weigh more to gain precision and damage.

If you use regular Large Lasers as the baseline, ERs gain range by increasing heat, Pulses gain damage and precision by lowering range and increasing weight. The LL family is balanced against itself, but it's not balanced against everything else.

Change their max grouping to 3. I'd prefer 4, but I'll take 3.

-.- I'm rather dissapointed in this. The changes to LLs ER LLs and LPLs was just insane. Those weapons aren't a problem, if anything the 'boating limit' should be raised to three. Oh and Thanks for nerfing SRMs without touching PPCs. It's like PGI wants the ppc to stay the best pound for pound weapon in the game permanently.

This isn't the right direction for balancing the game at all. Just words cannot describe how dissapointed I am.

Every game I've ever joined during Open Beta, I find people always complaining about how the game is "not going to make it." It's going to "crash" or "die" or whatever. They complain about every patch not doing the one thing they want to, and believe that everyone else must be a zombie and agree with them.

You want to make suggestions? You want to complain that the way they did a patch could have been better? By all means, that's the point of Open Beta.

But you know what happens when you cry Doom and Gloom on a game in Open Beta? People that see it are unlikely to try it out or become a part of it, because they believe it's going to die.

That isn't to say we should ignore the faults in the game. We should work to ensure that PGI improves the game. But talking about how the game is "sinking" is only going to hurt the game, not help it. So if you want this game to succeed, stop with the Armageddon talk. If I had been interested in this game and came to look at the forums and saw what some of you people are saying about it dying off, I may never download the game and play it.

Yeah, read your own post maybe?

LRM-15s have a smaller spread, and with 4x LRM-5s you have a really good tight group landing.

2x LRM-20s from a C4 is a wide spread and dirt useless, borederline waste of ammo if it wasn't for the occasional Awesome that could get hit with... maybe half of it? Yeah, no.

So run 2 15's and 2 5's for 40 tubes. It's slightly less than what the A1 is outputting, but it's able to make use of a couple energy hardpoints - TAG, for example - which can further tighten the missile spread.

No offense but everyone has their say in this.

I personally know several Founders from closed beta, long time MW fans, that have spent hundreds on hundreds of dollars, who are so disgusted with the way this is going that they uninstalled the game and refuse to play it.

I guess it would seem like a great game to people who haven't played it for the past twenty years but some people who have tasted the greatness that MW has been in the past are really not digging its current state.

I left for a bit and then came back when BAP was finally buffed into a hard counter for ECM and the game was pretty balanced. Now in some odd twist of logic they have decided that the way to control damage output is to severely restrict heat across the board.

This isn't a team based Mechwarrior combat simulator with 20+ years of Lore and technical details behind it, it's a first person arcade shooter with restrictions that new, non Mechwarrior buff players wont understand.

That is where the discontent lies IMHO.

I didn't say people don't have a say in this.

Commenting on gameplay mechanics != doom and gloom. Reread what I'm saying please.

I'm talking specifically about people crying that this game is going to go down in ruins and won't last. That kind of discussion hurts the game in the end and doesn't solve the problems the game has. Discussing issues doesn't turn away players, but reading posts that are essentially calling each patch "the end" of the game will.

I used to. The problem is the damage is less than what 4x LRM-10s can do and it wastes ammo since the volleys can't be easily timed.

The spread sizes are the problem.

LRM-20 full spread is trash. The LRM-15 wastes ammo and the LRM-10 is a kind of sweet spot while the LRM-5 is OP. I admit it, its OP, CTs the hell out of an unlucky medium facing the volley, or in the case of Firebrands or Jags if they got damaged prior... its crazy good, but... a mix of risk and boring on a good team.

The LRM-15+5 has a problem with reload rates. When the LRM10 voley is launched if its held down it is wasted ammo on AMS. The LRM30 is then a sort of dud-fire after as its torn down too. The only option is waiting and manually launching per attack, but in the heat of a fight its easy to forget that and get into lock and fire habbits.

The LRM-10x4 was the sweet spot for the C4, merging efficient ammo consumption with a decent reload for respectable damage. Can't do that now, and why? Its just a LMR40, no bigger than LRM-20x2, but it hits CT too much? Fix the damn spreads and I'll go back to that. Until then I'm not wasting ammo, its in short supply between teh weight needed on the Cat for TAG and JJs under the armor and enough engine to actually move.

So, no. Been there, done that. Its a waste of time and frustration that shouldn't have happened.

I dunno about you, but I'm seeing player bleed like the femoral artery was hit. I see the same 20 people day in, day out. About 2 weeks ago, it was the same 30 people. Sent a few messages out, they straight up moved on to other games.

I made an Alt account to see what was going on in the mid tiers; large numbers of new players in trials playing a few matches then claiming they were done with this game.

That's a lot of bleedout. I've CB'ed and OB'ed a lot of games. This game has record bleedout because it's not just the new guys that aren't grasping it. It's the old guys are getting fed up.

This game literally went from bad to worse. It's like the balance team hates any weapon not long range high alpha. So, they were able to add in a whole new system to make mechs die even faster yet they couldn't nerf PPC's. And they nerf brawling weapons even more just when we thought they had a chance at being semi useful. The community has tried to help constructively, and have even come together to put forward a united message about what's going so horribly wrong, yet it's quite obvious that Paul and crew don't give a rat's *** about the constructive feedback that they receive from players.

Too bad all I get is "please wait" after selecting "Play" and nothing else.

It's late, I guess I really did not want to play MW:O anyway.

I love people complaining about PPC/Gauss combo(which has been around since intro of the Cataphract).I know its HARD to comprehend, but you need rock, paper, scissors. There are Snipers in Team Fortress 2 and any other game. Instead of whining and yelling to nerf them, use tactic, brawling, and speed to rush them and kill them.

Same thing for AC20 boats, and Splat cats. Instead PGI nerfs everything, so its just paper. Slow death by a million paper cuts. Yes that sounds really fun.

For all of the people who accuse people that make constructive criticism of being whiners or smartasses:

I have played BT for more than 15 years. I have played every iteration of MW game that has existed since Windows 3.1. MWO has done things no other MW title has done. I still enjoy almost every drop.

The balance decisions worry me because I still want to have stompy robots in a year from now, but all signs point to a dying player base. That is the only reason I makes comments in forums. You can call me a whiny ***** all you want, but I like the game; I just wish it could reach its potential...

It's not going to as long as we have to explain game mechanics with juvenile chalkboard graphics. Is this idea that hard to understand?
