Because you guys were running AC 40 or 4/6 PPC boats?

These are some fantastic changes and I am glad to see PGI is pursuing the aggressive balancing promised alongside reviewing the "collateral damage" Ghost Heat has caused on non-problem variety builds such as SRM2/SRM4- and Large Laser- equipped mechs. These truly novel changes to combat the long-range high-alpha metagame that's been dominant since the end of January surely will put a stop to 2-ppc 1-gauss builds, some of which are jump-capable.

Sigh, you broke my dream.

Looks like PGI are happy with that meta, but it does nothing for interesting builds. When Phoenix launches, or any new mechs come out, the only question you need to ask yourself is - can I fit two PPCs and a Gauss Rifle on it?
The LL/ERLL/LPL nerf was unnecessary, and shows PGI don't really care about the meta. The +1 PPC heat would have gone along way to changing the game for the good, but instead we've got two or three convoluted charts of heat multipliers which don't solve the problem.
Crazy.

I will give a +1 to bumping the LL trio up to a 3 alpha (or even 4 really)

Unless that server upgrade will make the game awesome with no hit detection problems, that would be big.

Also the SRMs are now really confusing. If you're going to link all SRMs together, can we make the limit the same on all of them?

This is false. Even with Artemis, it shouldn't hollow out the CT of a target and leave the rest barely touched.

The fact you think artillery and air strikes are remotely useful is almost enough to make me discount your opinion on anything.

OK, let's do away with patch notes entirely then. Stuff just changes, we're never told what or how, we just guess. It's none of our business! We only play the game, after all (and are encouraged to spend our money on it).

Grow some back and learn to fight with the environmental handycap as everyone else on the battlefield!
I was in favor of the revised movement mechanics. Doesn't change the fact that more improvements need to be made, largely pretty basic and logical stuff which PGI didn't take time to consider. The pebbles on Canyon were one of those things, but there are more important ones.

Question for PGI: Are you going to have a printable version of the Heat Scale charts available by launch so players can know if they are building a Paul Approved™ Mech?

I mean, this brings up two questions in my mind:
1) Who was actually using LPL's? The correct answer is: No one who was remotely competitive, because the LPL is currently trash
2) Even if you were using LPL's, why on earth would you pair them in an alpha strike with a LL? The range difference on those two weapons is huge.. The firing time is different. Those weapons simply no not complement each other at all.
It just strikes me as really weird that such a change would even be bothered with. Either there is some kind of secret aspect to the LPL which I am totally unaware of (which is possible), or it demonstrates a point of confusion on PGI's part in terms of how such weapons are used.. or really, how any weapons are used in their game.

Nobody was seriously running 6PPC mechs and those that did sacrificed a lot of capability. Could they have sacrificed more? Yes, let's adjust the heat capacity! Was the solution a byzantine penalty system designed to punish SRM-2 "boating" or smaller mechs' energy loadouts? No.
