Nice update.

Heavy Metal 2xERPPC Gauss, and 19 DHS still owns this game.

Sniper weapons are always gonna be more effective than brawling weapons. Look at modern warfare. Do we run into a field and shoot each other with shotguns? No. We have .50 cal sniper rifles sawing people in half from a mile out. This is the way your game is permanently gonna be if you continue down this path. You've made brawling ****. Nerf 2xAC20 jaegers and splatcats (the only decent brawlers EVER) and you wonder why snipers are running your servers.

Listen, you stop making maps where I have 1000+ meter clear LOS on targets, and I'll stop laughing my way to the CBill bank, cashing in the heads of everything that's not a Highlander or Stalker, and rolling in the tears of pugtards.

Tech level. Computing power. CryEngine. There's your problem right there.

You make a map where I can see someone coming in from 1800 meters, and see who's gonna waste 30 seconds in a gunfight trying to close brawling range, haha. Even Canyon Network and Frozen City are like this.

No cover = sniper fodder.

Must be why I used to see so many DV8 (and other competitive corps) guys with 2PPC, 1ERPPC, 1Gauss on their highlanders, they were playing inferior mechs to the above to boost their skills.

So, any reason you're not doing that on a Victor or Cataphract 3D? Speed completely irrelevant?

Use the best mech for the job whenever you can. In a game partially about building the best robot, giving people grief for building the best robot is kinda ****** stupid, don't ya think? Sorry I'm not a pugbad and I don't use LBX10s and LPLs lmao.

Oh, and I liked the Phract and Victor with that setup as well. HGN-HM is just the best of the three.

Maybe it's because the last few times I've dropped against you guys I've been in a medium, with 2 other friends also in mediums, VS your assault+light group. Saying your optimum cheese stomped my medium lance isn't something to brag about and proves nothing.

Also, FYI, I was using this thing called sarcasm, since in your first post you were insinuating that going from 2PPC+ERPPC+Gauss to 2ERPPC+Gauss is not in any way a hindrance.

Oh, and if you guys are so good, landing 2 shots should be easy for you guys, so put that third PPC right back on or admit you can't land 2 shots in a row.

Okay, so don't complain if you're gonna take bad mechs and have good mechs make a mockery of your team. That's part of the game. There is no 'bad mech queue.'

Also, it's not a hindrance. Do some math. Your DPS goes UP.

If you want DPS, there are far far better builds, even with better heat efficiency.
Long cooldown-sniping is all about the alpha.
If you want long-range DPS with high heat efficiency, try quad AC/5s on a 4X Phract. >70% with 20burst damage compared to 35 and better than double the actual DPS. Of course, since PGI refuses to give us anything heavier than 70tons that does this, you end up going stock hunchback speed, after speed tweak.

As to playing in the bad-mech queue, I was hoping my Medium Elo was low enough for that, plus I brought a friend who hadn't played since before Elo. Matchmaker still sent us against DV8.

Yeah I agree the ELO system is beyond ******. : /

I can fire 5-6 alphas with my 19 DHS build without overheating. I only need 3 of those shots to core that phract, and any pilot worth his salt can roll that damage into oblivion.

I can see where you're coming from with the 'an assault mech that can hold the same loadout' etc etc. Maybe that will change some stuff.
