Original Seismic was simply OP. Nerfed Seismic is till very good for what it does. It's just not the end-all-be-all of modules.
Scouts? Nobody but scouts gives a dam about scouts being able to be completely hidden all the time. If anything is OP, having virtually invisible scouts falls into that category. Just the idea that a ankle biter can get their nose up an assault mech and starting firing weapons and not show up on the mechs radar is absolutely stupid and probably the biggest argument for 3PV.
Scouts could still scout with un-nerfed seismic .. scouts are really fine now. Seismic is fine now ... and still one of the best modules if you care at all about situational awareness.

A single point can give you distance and direction ref. Objects behind closest would be masked however, unless the closer had a weaker impact the the farther.
Now there is a thought. If a Heavy or Assault Mech are being escorted by a Medium or Light, then those lighter chassis' do not show on the Seismic, unless they go outside the distance of the Seismic users module (reg or adv.) and at least 300 angle of separation between the group/pair/gaggle etc.
Sort of like the ECM umbrella but for Mechs who don't have Seismic. That way, not "everyone" has to have it.
Hiding in the Big Guys foot steps. Brilliant. Just do it already.

In order to unlock modules, one must expend GXP, and also to upgrade them. When PGI nerfs modules, they really should refund the GXP and remove it from your unlocked modules, so you have the option to either reinvest it, or not.
We spent GXP on this item, to turn around and nerf it, without refunding the GXP, is unacceptable. This is not the item we bought, and given the choice now, I probably would not buy it with the current limited range.
