Heat penatly system is just so wrong. WRONG.

My 2 ER PPC / 1 Gauss +- JJ +- Support Weapons Assault Mech still works totaly fine.

Because of 2 ER PPC + 1 Gauss.

My 4 PPC STK-3F works fine.

Do I see it as a problem? NO!

Do I think that the HPS system failed? YES!

I can't imagine why a sane person can come on with SUCH a useless, harmfull, bad-thought-through idea.

Why PAUL Why? You can not possible think that this **** is a good idea!

Remember the whole Artemis/ LRM debacle? How it took them a couple of days to realize the patch didn't work right and they hotfixed it a few days later? Yeah I'm betting if they seem the same problem as that a hotfix will be short coming.

If only they'd hotfix the heat system... Then we wouldn't need this ridiculous magic-heat-inducing boating mechanic.

We told PGI 2 weeks ago that their asinine heat penalty system wouldnt work. They implemented it anyway. Now LL, LPL, SRMs, LRMs, AC/20s, etc... are all nerfed, while PPC/Gauss is entirely unaffected and worse than ever.

The best thing PGI could do at this point is a hotfix for PPC projectile speed (lower it from 2000 to 1200 temporarily). And then during the next major patch, implement a more permanent fix for PPCs AND remove this heat penalty crap, which not only failed completely at what it was intended to do, but also completely ruined an entire subset of weapons that were never overpowered to begin with.

at this point, i'm not against cutting ppc damage in half. put that in a hotfix for tomorrow.

Yeah, supposedly they want to do 5 damage + 5 splash damage once they figure out how to make splash damage work properly.

So nerf PPC's to 5 damage now, and when you figure out splash damage you can put them back at 5+5 splash.

There are about 5-10 easy ways to fix the current game issues.

I'm even ok with making AC's and PPC's have more of a damage over time mechanic like lasers, force the spread that way.

Have AC's shoot out 5 pellets each shot, have ppc's have a duration somewhere between lasers and pulse lasers.

From what ive read, stage 2 patch is just +1 heat for ppcs, which will do NOTHING. Heat isnt the problem. It never has been. But PGI keeps trying to balance around heat for some dumb reason... alphastriking will still be the most effective way to kill mechs even if PPC builds run slightly hotter.

I don't think you understand what the term hotfix means.

you can dodge gauss. you could dodge ppcs when they were 1200 too. And medium mechs were viable because they could dodge.

You KNOW how that'll turn out: 5 damage + 5 splash damage to all surrounding locations, making the PPC do 15-35 damage per shot.

I've been arguing for burst mechanic for ballistics for some time now, and to turn the PPC into the beam weapon it is in lore.

That is an awful lot of complaining for something that didn't affect you.

Maybe you can complain about the price of tea in china tomorrow.

A/C's going damage over time? Really? Come on dude, once they go in, they've done all the hurtin' they're gonna do.

And I think what you're talking about is an LBX-10, those will come in different sizes too I'm sure...

It affects me because I want more viable builds than just 1 G + 2 PPC.

nerfing seismic helped a little. removing it would have helped more.
