  • LocationStill doing ungodly amount of damage, but with more accuracy.

Here Angry Joe commented about the X-Box One DRM implementation but I think it is also appropriate to use it here on Paul's heat system

Why is PGI so obsessed with this unpopular and overly complicated system which STILL does not address the sniper meta? People can still do 2 PPC+Gauss poptarting no problem. PGI should have just gone after the main issue.

Instead of making some real balances and bring back the LPL and LBX, you linked LPL with LLaser--bravo! I'm sure LPL was causing so much grief in the first place. Punishing unpopular build while keeping the popular build intact makes so much sense!

Now I fully understand that PGI is trying to make people fire smaller and smaller Alphas but you guys are doing it wrong! You could have just made up much simpler system where firing above X total number of missiles/lasers/damage at once will have certain % heat penalty--not this overly complicated crap. Players in general like their games simple to understand.

Not to mention this is getting MWO further and further away from the canon, and that is something that I, as a 15 year BT fan, cares deeply about.

Cannon? Show me a 3025 or a 3050 mech with 4 to 5 ppc's or er ppcs. For that matter show me a 3055 mech with one. Name one mech that is cannon to that example? Don't quote the clan Behemoth either its 2 Gauss 2 large pulse if memory serves without looking up the second line clan mechs. The old classic battle tech, you know the one from the early 80's did not let people go around with boating with the exception of a few medium laser builds. I recall many battlemaster pilots used to like having 5 medium lasers builds and ripping up anything at short range. Never once did I see a mech with 5 ppcs shooting them without exploding in the game. In this game be thankful there is not explosion check for excessive heat. Additonally maybe they should make shut down mechs fall over if they are hit while in shutdown mode just like old battletech. Then they got try stand up and take damage for doing so. To complicated at this point to implement that.

Anything to not implement hardpoint size restrictions. Then the system could make sense.
