No surprises that people stop playing really , balance I guess has a lot to do with it, it's kind of a real let down when you are a new player and have to fight in a pug vs pre-mades all the time (first time playing this after closed beta more or less). If I hadn't started my prem time then I would stop playing this too. Fix the MM! pre-mades vs pre-mades , pugs vs pugs please for a much more enjoyable game.(not for the pre-mades obviously , no more easy C-Bills and kills).

I think, if you're posting this kind of thread. You've made your choice and simply need to walk away for either a break or entirely. I'll leave that choice up to you.

With the last few patches and now 3rd person view rearing it's ugly head....that begs the question. Is it time to throw in the towel? Is it time for most of us die hard BT fans to realize this isn't the game we hoped for and were promised? What do you guys think?

I think if you're looking for an answer from anyone aside from yourself about whether you should continue to engage in any hobby behavior, then either your motive is suspect, or else you might need to analyze whether you have a codependent personality. I don't say that to try to sound condescending or insulting, but no one can really answer the question for you. If you enjoy playing, keep playing. if something's a deal-breaker, you either post feedback about it and hope that it changes, or you move on to other things.

If you don't like the direction the game is going and you aren't having fun then stop playing. Simple as that. You are an adult, you don't need people on a web forum to make up your mind for you. And you certainly don't need to presume you speak for, or your opinions match those of, "die hard BT fans". I've been playing since 1984 and I'm enjoying the hell out of this game. I may not like some of the decisions made, or changes implemented/being developed; however, that does not mean I can't still have fun playing the game.

This. Ad infinitum.

Can I have all my money back in that case? I paid for one product but got another one. I paid for hardcore game ("closer to TT") but got crappy console [censored] with ghost heat and all that Paul's balance "ideas".

You had to know they were gonna follow WoTs layout though right? Widest appeal possible.

Nope. I didn't expected that. If I new that... maybe in that case I'd pay only for mechbays and some "camo" paint. But no money for PP and other payments - it was idea to support "close to TT" devs not another WoT clone. It's a pitty but PGI just cheated me with their promises... blessed we are to be lied upon...

If you were a founder, which it seems you are not, you invested in a product in development. If you purchased MC then I would hope you were smart enough to realize what a beta product was and how it can, and often will, change over the course of its development before you forked over your money to help further production of the game. You didn't "pay for a hardcore game", you made a microtransaction in a game still in development that helped further it's development. If you failed to realize that was what you were doing then I don't know what to tell you. Cavet Emptor

I stopped playing TT hardcore when they introduced Clans. I objected then but still FASA continued. The nerve of them!

MWO doesn't have Clans yet so I have no reason to quit. Hopefully they will have IS-only modes.

You aren't only one smart person in this world so do not tell me the platitudes. Devs promised a completely different game, not as it is now...

Your sig and stance would seem to indicate that you no longer like this game. If so why are you still playing it let alone posting in it's forums???

There is one Ukrainian tale about 2 frogs that felt into jug with milk: one thought "what's the reason to fight for life?" - and was drowned; another one floundered and whisked an island of butter. Got my point?

P.S. Don't tell me what to do and I don't tell you where you can go with your advices...

We've been lied to by PGI. They promised us mechwarrior, but instead are giving us world of mechs. Probably all part of their plan, milk as much money out of the mechwarrior fanbase as possible, then abandon them so that they can focus on stealing WoT player base.

Apparently I missed the part where PGi swore on a stack of bibles that the game would be precisely tailored to each individual's expectations.

It was on Twitch yesterday when the test server was live.

The tradeoffs will disappear over time as WoT players QQ about it.

rofl, I can only imagine you typing that wearing a tin-foil hat. Seriously, you guys are a bit crazy. PGI is an inexperienced dev. At first, they thought they could do without 3rd person but, marketing showed the game would be more successful with 3rd person also in-game. If they had a little more experience in game development, they would have probably known 3rd person was necessary from the start and they would have been straight about it. I'm pretty sure you guys wouldn't have cried so much if you knew from the start 3rd person was in. Actually, we would have spent more time on discussing the idea instead of crying about it and telling our mamas somebody lied to us

I still enjoy playing the game, and even tolerate the "this is OP, that is OP, etc." arguments. Unless there are blatant exploits, 3PV won't make much of a difference for me.

There are a few frustrating games now-and-then, but mostly they center around one aspect: in-game VOIP. When a PUG team can't get it's act together and wander around, it's certain death - to the laughter of the enemy team (unless they're wandering around just like us - then it's merely comical).

I got into MW not by TT, but by original MW:1 on PC. Worked thru that series, and later enjoyed the Virtual World simulators (which was AWESOME - anyone remember those?). In VW, I know the comms were external to the software, and I have no idea how difficult it technically is to integrate. But it was good just to be able to talk in any instanced scenario. It made teams work, and added to the immersion.

We need that badly in MWO.

I've been relegated to PUG battles, as my schedule removes any ability for me to match up consistently with a corps. I don't think we'll solve the OP/UP problems soon, but to match up TEAMS and get some good battles going - we need in-game VOIP.
