Are the mercenary corps apart of the MWO storyline, or are they just organizations made by players?

PGI has told the community that none of the Merc Units who exist in Battletech lore are available to us as names for our groups. They have plans for those. All Merc Corps in MWO are unique creations of the players.

Sweet, if I ever find a group of players I play with well I'll be sure to make one (eventually)
