A friend of mine showed me Mechwarrior 4 about a year ago and I instantly fell in love - it's an awesome game and I hope this game will be too!

Original Post:
>It would be designed for the Xbox 360 and PC.

Oh *** that scared me. Thankfully after I read that I noticed and read the sticky on the main games with a link to pc gamer which says it's PC exclusive. The 2nd link suggests you really wanted to get the game on consoles at the time, I politely say sorry you could not do that but for me it is good new that another PC game won't get ruined!

When games get designed for consoles and the PC it seems to me the PC version ultimately suffered in a number of ways. The game you'll make will hopefully take full advantage of the keyboard/mouse, the processors/graphics cards of today and not suffer due to the limitations of a game pad and hardware of consoles. Some games that would work on PC just don't work on consoles (including the whole RTS genre in my opinion) unless you butcher them and I'm so glad to hear you'll be making a real PC game - hopefully one of the best game ever! :)

Thank you guys for sticking in there and making this happen. You have a lot of people that have been holding their breaths and waiting for a new mechwarrior game. You are making that dream happen and it is amazing!

I've been playing MW since a friend gave me the first battlemech game on a 3.5 floppy. I have it still, to include every other release up to legends. I have been wandering the wastelands looking for a mech to pilot and now it seems I may see what I've been searching for in my lazer rifle's sights down range. I only hope it isn't a mirage and that it truly is what I need. Ever since I saw the trailer, like many others, I have been anxiously waiting for your work to come to us. Thank you for your hard work and dedication and long live MechWarrior!

I have been a Battletech fan all of my life. I've played all the Mechwarrior games, MechCommander games and more, and loved them all. I've played the board game extensively, and all I can say is that it would be amazing to incorporate BattleForce-like game play into this concept. Picture this: moving to a new system means jumping in-system, winning the battle off-planet using ships and fighters first, then taking the planet using air, sea and land units combined. Piloting 'mechs can still be a focal point, but the added thrill in the strategy of taking the galaxy system by system would be amazing. I would even be up to pay for the ability to take on new systems one at a time, especially when major events like Clan vs. Inner Sphere is concerned. Having story driven add-on packs would keep me coming back again and again. Anyway, I'm glad you guys picked up this project. I remember being a beta tester for the last online only Mechwarrior and I liked what I saw. Cheers!

I started out with the board game and MechWarrior II - some of my best memories from gaming ever and my entry into the world of online gaming in general.

I've been waiting for a quality MW game for ages, it seems, so here's hoping this is it. It certainly seems like you guys have the vision, here's hoping the execution matches the ideals from the trailer videos :)

This is great news to hear. It's been years since I played MW and I think I may need to go buy another Sidewinder Joystick for some torso-twisting action.

As far as F2P... gutsy decision... while many may think "flop" right out the gate, some F2P games are actually doing rather well (LOTORO as an example) so I think if any game has the ability to pull this off, MWO does.

As a suggestion, consider a balance between Store currency that you buy and ingame currency that you earn. Some F2P titles offer store items for 3-10 x the cost of store currency (rubies, potatos, diamonds, etc...) which creates even more desire to actually buy ingame currency to shorten the waiting that it would take to farm / grind missions etc... to earn the requisite amount of credits to unlock the Mad Cat mech or the Diashi *grin*

Another free-be idea for ya... consider having a salvage yard that uses ingame credits or store currency to refit recovered chassis that we salvage in missions (provided we didn't blow the hell of it) Makes sniping and head shot crits even more valuable if it would add a % modifier to generate a chassis as "loot"

Just a couple thoughts...

I wish you all well in the development and if you ever need beta testers... *wink*

/salute

Guys the best of luck and all of us Mech Warrior fans are looking forward to seeing a awesome product.

I have played the pen and paper game and all others that have followed over the years even the first PC game. I hope that you not only develop an exciting game but also add the depth that the Mech Warrior Universe has to offer!

A F2P might work if it's like World of Tanks. It seems to be prospering and the money tanks and items don't dominate the game.
I've been a mech player since Battledroids which later became BattleMech.
I've played the CCG and about every version of the game even the clix.

Hope this works out.

I agree. I'm a WoT player too, and despite the fact that it's F2P, the devs seem to make money with premium accounts and tanks, without breaking the game balance.
