good luck with the game

i dreamed of a MW online game for 10 years now.

the F2P model can be VERY successful. Look at World of Tanks http://worldoftanks.com/.
They have an awesome model for multiplayer online freemium combat that would work great with MW. Ever since i started playing WoT i said to myself, what a great setup would this be for a battletech game.

hope the quality/polish/balance is just as good as WoT and than this game will be a big hit!

I had the same thought reading this dev post. What if they made anything like WOT for the Mech Universe that is F2P. I think this is worth to be considered. On the other hand i don't know what they have in mind so far. Future will tell...

Thank you for doing this. I'm a little older, and a little rusty, but ready to hot-drop again.

The first game I ever played on a PC was Mech Warrior 2,I loved the heck out of it and even thought the graphics were good. All of the mech warrior games since then have been just as fun and I have pretty much have loved them all. I hope this one can pull off the same trick, sounds like it can.

My first PC game was EarthSiege2. I fell in love with giant fighting robots on that day in 1999. Soon I was borrowing friends copies of MechWarrior 2. I purchased MechWarrior 3 the moment I had saved up enough allowance. I grabbed StarSiege when I found out it existed too. I played the BattleTech board game, read the books. Then came MechWarrior 4 and Mercs.

Life was good for a time. Then... nothing.
Life became a barren wasteland of burnt out mechs and HERC's. I was so desperate for more BattleTech that I even spent hundreds of dollars on MW: Dark Age figures.

Now there is hope on the horizon, like a friendly assault lance cresting the hill. It'll take some time to get here, but by *** it will be glorious.

I welcome the NWO of MWO.

Your post made me cry. :')

Yes, it will be glorious!

I have an longtime supporter of the Mechwarrior/BattleTech line. From board games in the early 80's then the arrival of the MW1(go Blazing Aces!) through the series the PC and XBox Games. After almost 30 years of playing this game all I can say is I can hardly wait for the next evolution.

Go Smith & Tinker! Go Piranha Games! And Thank you~!

The UAV design looks like the one used in UT2004 for the artillery.

He'd like a Russian language version of this site for news. (Maybe have a separate section for German, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, French Spanish, Korean, etc players)

i have to say that you gys did great on the mechwarrior game so far that i have seen. but i wonder will there be also difrent ways of attacking and not jest oping with a maxed out attlas? like being able to make a fast lightly armored mech with high acurasy and damage like a sniper, or equipment that alows you to repair other mechs or set down covering fire/artilary like a medic or support mech? ^_^

Each class of Mech Fills a certain roll. So we were told by devs.

I still have trouble adapting to the F2P concept, i wanted a new mechwarrior game like the old ones, (With a more developed SP side), but seeing a MW game focusing on Multiplayer is kind of nice.

I also have some interrogations about the F2P, but the more I think about it the more it could indeed make sens, especially when you check the thread with the poll with the average ages of all mechjoks around, hell most of us seem to be above 35! that means less time to play, generally some bucks to spend on beer and mechs and probably a different approach to competitive gaming.

Nice Videos... I waiting for Mech Warrior Online...

I hope that MWO will be diferent to World of Tanks, because it's only "pay and win" game. They are very greedy, and is hard to play without premium. I prefer game like LoL, when you pay for another skins, bonus, but play you cvan without pay. I live in poor coutry - Poland :D

im kind of skeptical to see how this will play out as it has a console attached to it. consoles tend to make games dumbed down; please make this a simulator not a console port!
