im kind of skeptical to see how this will play out as it has a console attached to it. consoles tend to make games dumbed down; please make this a simulator not a console port!

there's not been any real confirmation this game will even be made for consoles, at least not at first. Read some of the materials around the site and you'll get a better picture of their vision, which thus far sounds really tantalizing.

As a long time MW/BT fan I am truly excited to play this game. Everything I have read so far leads me to believe that the game development is capable hands.

Have you read any of Pauls posts.. :)

I'm kidding of course.. I think you couldn't be more right about the team at PGI.. they seemed to have gotten a lot done in a short time.

I just signed in to this site and this is the first topic I have read. So if i am missing something that has been posted afterwards I'm sorry...

That being said, I am a Mechwarrior superfan. From what I understand based on the topic, the campaign mode that was advertised has been scrapped. If so this really sucks. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the multiplayer games, but I really enjoy the campaigns too. I still play MW3 and 4's campaigns and if I could install them, I would break out MW2 mercs. and play that campaign again.

I hope that with the release of this game you will get the support you need to create the awesome reboot we saw several years ago.

Multiplayer IS the campaign. I think there will also be a system to practice and train your mech skills, possibly hologram based.

So happy to hear it's for PC and not console any more! The rather complex mechanics of a simulator have never worked well on consoles due to the number of buttons. Might be time to invest in a joystick even ;)

I don't know what to say beside thank you for keep your hopes up.

I know how people said mechwarrior is a dead franchise. noone bothers to play a sim mech combat nowadays. devs and publishers won't take risk making a simulation game anymore

but 2012 is a year of mech, beside dragon.

It will be heartwarming to see the return of the Mechwarrior franchise. I haven't been here long enough to really have looked around the place, so I haven't yet seen what may already have been revealed... so let me just urge you on.

Such dedication is certainly encouraging, I would really love to see gameplay like the first trailer, before this reboot! I'm glad that the Hula girl made it though!

Thank you for taking the risks and putting the effort and time into rebooting the MechWarrior franchise. To all the people involved in MWO I wish them all the best with achieving their goals and deadlines with MWO. I trust MWO will be a hit becuase of the great team working on it and, in my opinion one of the most loyal fanbases ever.

LONG LIVE MechWarrior Online!
Thank you!

i loved the original computer version of mechwarrior on my blazing fast 12Mhz 286.
i have upgraded my hardware somewhat since then.
i saw someone mention this game was in development in battle chat over on world of tanks.
that client is still up in another window here as i jumped out and went to google before that battle was over.
i have beta tested several games over the years and want to get on your list of candidates for when the time comes for you to be looking around for someone.
i'll look in the forums for the thread where you are collecting names for that, i'm sure you have no shortage of volunteers.

First, I want to say "THANKS" for bring MW back into the light. I have played ever iteration through the years and have seen many, welcome advancements. Obviously, losing sight of MW during the last few years has been depressing, but seeing MWO brings back some fond memories (token ring playing between my buddies house and mine) and some great expectations. I cannot relate the wonderous feelings of having my MW back. Great work on finally bringing this together and I know you have already seen just how much our community thanks and welcomes you back. Can't wait to play again!

I am veteran player of the pencil/paper Battletech and Mechwarrior games (one exception - Mechwarrior Assault...bleh). I too walked away, when the franchise went stagnant under Microsoft. In 2010, I start to hear about the title affectionately known as Mechwarrior Reboot. I was totally elated hearing that one of my all time fav games was coming back. Ah...the chance to pilot mechs again! Then nothing materialized...until 3 months ago. I heard from a friend and mechwarrior player that they were bringing Mechwarrior Online to the PC. If there is one game that will make me leave WoW to play, it will be Mechwarrior Online - for I was a mechwarrior first...

To all that have had their hands in this resurrection, thank you. I don't think you will be dissappointed at our response. I'm waiting on buying the founders package. I also can't wait to start playing Mechwarrior Tactics. This is like Christmas in summer lol!

(and I hope you all introduce the Clans somewhere down the road...it wouldn't be the same without the Clans - but let's get ourselves reaquainted with mechs first... :o )
