I really regret buying MC yesterday after playing this new patch. I am used to them nerfing weapons but now they are nerfing the graphics too. I used to get a solid 30 fps and now PPCs and missiles look like crap. In order to get the same visual effects I used to I have to actually increase Particles in the graphics settings to high which kills my FPS. So the new choice is have crappy weapons effects or lower frame rates. How is this better. Instead of nerfing the graphics of the game why don't they just stick to systematically castrating Assault mechs weapons load outs. I swear they arn't going to be happy until every mech is a medium and all weapons are medium lasers. A jenner should fear an Atlas, not the other way around.

Yeah... no.

An atlas should fear a jenner, should the jenner catch him alone, and without support.

The way I read that was like saying "A soldier should fear a tank, not the other way around".

Lets say all 11 'Mechs on each side are dead and It's just an Atlas vs a Jenner. Current state of the game would imply that the Atlas Is terrified. I know that I would enjoy being the Jenner running laps around the Atlas. But a 100 'Mech should not have to like a woman hiding on a chair from a little mouse.

That's just silly.

not, this sounds so wrong on many levels, you take one of the most feared mechs in Battletech, turn it into a slow, non melee, huge target where a light mech with a couple of lasers can kill it by getting behind it and pew pew at leasure, is not the MechWarrior game I remember, or even sounds close to the vision Battletech had for the Atlas!
The Atlas is probably the best-known 'Mech to ever set foot on the modern battlefield. Designed with specifications from Aleksandr Kerensky in 2755[2] in the midst of the Cameron Edicts, the Atlas was originally intended to ensure SLDF superiority over the Star League member states. Though the inexorable arming of the Successor states continued, the Atlas proved itself to be everything General Kerensky requested. With nineteen tons of Durallex Heavy Special armor, crippling firepower, and the foreboding skull shaped "Death's Head" cockpit/head assembly, the Atlas lived up to its reputation.
The mere sight of an Atlas had been known to make even a veteran MechWarrior break out in a cold sweat

I forgot to add that Forest Colony looks terrible now too.

Tankers don't want to go anywhere Infantry haven't reconned. 1 guy with a missile launcher can create a 70 ton junkpile.

I kill Atlai in my Jenner. I kill Jenners in my Atlas. But I'm a lot happier in the Atlas when there's a flyswatter in support.

Jenners are good at backstabbing any slow mech in TT also. Sorry Atlas peeps, but you're awfully ahead on what an Atlas is capable of. Front to front, anyone that plays a Jenner that way deserves to lose. A Jenner's strength against an Atlas is that it can generally control the distance and direction a fight between it an Atlas takes place at. You don't fight "fair" with an Atlas by fighting stupid. Anyone that thinks they "deserve" to win against a lighter mech deserves to lose because they're being taught a lesson.

In some ways, that's like saying a Tank shouldn't fear an Assault Helicopter because it's got heavier armor and a big cannon. Now I know that's not 100% accurate, but that Atlas DOES need to be respectful of the Jenner or it's going to get shot in the *** and killified.

Its been a common theme for me to play lighter slower mechs designed as a cheap bodyguard to larger mechs, thats pretty much what I did early on with a commando (SSRMs and ECM, super glued to any atlas on the field). Though now im using a blackjack with a ac20 for such small problems. Earlier today A friendly Death's Knell was on a enemy point fighting two mechs, I could only get a ID on a enemy spider but went to help anyways. I round a building and see a 2xERppcs cicada is the other enemy and made this face:

The next thing they should do to improve graphic performance is get rid of some of the smoke, haze and effects on the River City map. And no, I don't have $ to buy a new system or new graphics card.

I see what you mean. I'm not saying that Jenners are bad.. in fact, It's one of my most fun 'Mechs I have. Yesterday I was playing a game in River City with It, and my entire team was rolled, with just me left. I killed an Atlas, and 3 more before finally being put down, man that was fun.

I don't want to play Terra Therma at all, and this is not something more players will fix. ...

TERRA THERMA IS NOT READY YET!

so please remove it from the game until it is actually playable. The heat is enough of a restriction, the mountains blocking our path and making us walk for 5 minutes before we encounter any enemy is just way too much when we know the combat is gonna suck anyways because of overheating.

It doesn't help anyone to have a map that 80% of the playerbase or more hates. I know you love a map you worked hard to make but face the fact that the damned thing isn't ready to be used yet. Just please put the map's intergration on hold.

Sorry, but it's beta and we are also testing the maps.
Do you know how many people ask fo getting maps even earlyer to help testing them?
Just because you don't like the map it does not mean they should remove it for you.
The map is ready and with the 12v12 now it is actually more than just group hugh like in the smaller maps. You even said yourself to change back to 8v8 on smaller maps.

As for first win of the day, it should not apply to trials and it should give both extra CB and XP. why? Xp is worthless to us, it takes us a few games to research all of the basic tree, and we can't get to elite and master unless we have a lot of spare slots and a lot more of spare CB. Thanks for double XP for 1 game but no thanks, that stuff is uselss unless i intend to convert it to GXP for MC. I don't intend to do that.

I also think players should get bonus CB and Exp for surviving a match.

You don't let new players have the same 2x bonus for trial mechs? You get a lot of XP and just because you can't buy our 2nd and 3rd mech of that type in the same time you reach 8 of 8 basics it doesn't mean you don't need the XP or you should not get the bonus.

Getting bonus for surviving on the other hand is a good idea.
