not sure how i feel about making such an SRM heavy mech with the change to SRMs in today's patch. i understand that i could just Chain fire all the racks separately but in what is clearly intended to be a brawler mech i feel like that would be counter productive and leave you exposed for FAR longer than you should be, and in a 55 ton mech, that is a death sentience

Not sure what we're supposed to do with 5 missile hardpoints since the boating heat nerf penalizes carrying more than 3-4 SRM racks. Oh, and SRMs still kind of suck: too short range and inaccurate for high level play.

Hunt lights? With streaks, you'd have most of the firepower of a Streakcat and a somewhat higher practical top speed. Though to be honest, the basic Kintaro, when it comes out, will do it better, since it comes with a noticeably larger stock engine.

also, how is the pretty baby applicable now? it was comparable to a trebuchet before, but this thing has more hardpoints, for a similar speed. 5 missile, 3 beam vs 3 and 3. the PB has more armor, but its torsos are so big it doesnt really live longer...

why do you guys constantly make mechs totally obsolete?

With a split between arm and torso SRMs, they should be split in the groupings anyway, so it shoudln't be a large issue unless you absolutely positively have to alpha at that point, at which time, the heat penalty is likely not your highest concern.

That is true. However, I have seen many a player who do nothing but Alpha strike.

a bit taller than it needs to be for 55 tons.

but considering its about the same height as the massive 50ton trebbie and centurion, its slightly more reasonable since its heavier.

anyway this is what the medium lineup looks like currently taking out the outliers; centurion and trebuchet

Then kill them when they shut down due to heat ;)

My major gripe are the angles at which it can torso twist and move its arms.

Heat Penalty kills this mech.

Well, as time progressed in the battletech universe, new, better mechs were released just like newer, more efficient cars come out now. Makes sense - if a mech was awesome (lol!) but had a few shortcomings, of course they're going to try to come up with something just as awesome (ha!) but resolving some of the shortcomings.

Only time I've seen it, it was rather easy to kill.
As a medium mech, I suspect it sucks. Less than other mediums suck, since it's as heavy as a medium can be, but still not as good as a heavy or assault, and not mobile enough to keep up with lights.

Poor game design keeps it from being particularly useful.

This isn't an evolving timeline though, its a competitive PvP PC game. Developers should either strive to make all available mechs, or at least one variant from each model, competitive. Coming out with a mech that is a clear upgrade over an existing in game mech is either a cash grab or a poorly thought out development process. That said, Pretty Baby *does* have more tonnage to better use those hardpoints. I guess it can strap on PPCs?

Disappointingly slow and not agile at all. Drives like a little atlas. Even putting max engine doesn't make it drive better or even as well as a hunchback. Why must we have so many slow mediums? Looking forward to standard models since they will go faster. GB feels like a heavy mech but lacks tonnage to work with. Not ready to give up yet but so far not happy.

it actually is an evolving timeline, as in, newer mechs will actually be more advanced, we're waiting for the clan invasion, and in 20 years we should get some really awesome mechs :P

CT looks like a huge, tall blob pre-packaged to be cored out by anyone who doesn't have cerebral palsy.

I don't know why but my empty golden boy doesn't allow to put artemis on.

c-bills and empty slots and tonnage are available for it.

Saw some on the battlefields and they popped quite fast according to being slow and easy to hit

To me, the Kintaro is a weaker Quickdraw + its another humanoid-looking mech which makes it even more boring /yawn
.... i want to see le Champion or other cool chassis T_T

anyways....i dont see a reason to buy this Mech
