So Uh, 12 V 12 Made Things Worse

Video of my minimap now.
On Terra, it is now EVEN MORE LIKELY that someone will start a cap race, and then it is a massive (but slow) trudge back to base.
The change to cap times did not seem to help enough in that regard.
On the other hand, on Canyon it takes AN ABSURDLY LONG TIME TO TAKE A RESOURCE CAPTURE POINT UNLESS YOUR WHOLE TEAM IS THERE.

Only problem is the fact that it drops my fps into the *******. Now light mechs are neigh impossible to hit, and I have no option to enter an 8v8 anymore

With that said, I hope its a temporary thing, the 12v12 that is. I realize they are trying to gain mass data and such, that they may work on optimizations. I just dont want to do it all the time.

People are gonna steal your base. So wait for them to come, blow them up, cackle maniacally or whatever it is your assault pilots do, and then go fight or bake a nice cake.

I too have been having some wicked fps spikes with the 12 v 12. I hope they can get that sorted out soon. The instant and sudden drop in frames is rather annoying and a bit frustrating.

I've wiped everything to do with the game from the drive and reloaded.
Now that I think on it, maybe its just my computer protecting me from that god awful map. Hell, that disaster gave me new appreciation for River City Night. Even with the 12v12 shenanigans going on.
Please, drop this map until its not so terrible, and give us the option for 8v8 back.
12v12 would be much better if we had new game modes to make use of the additonal units. As it is, people just blob and blow mechs apart faster making the snowball effect that much more noticable.
Give us a mode where we defend a base with structures or some other type of defensible positon against an agressor. Or heck, any of the multiple good ideas pushed out by the playerbase in the last year. Anything, something rather than Cap base, cap multiple bases, kill all mechs we've had since closed.

That does suck. However from the standpoint of a PUG. I would "crap a brick" if I saw a 12 man premade come, while I looked on my team consisting of mish-mash 2-3 man premades and PUGs. *Shiver*

I think 12v12 is a step in the right direction for the game.
I'm totally not being sarcastic! Good job devs!
(whew. That was different.)

What I have seen lately is mechs spreading out all over the map, then running in one by one to die like ninjas in a kung fu movie. If not that it's everyone bottle-necking in one spot shooting each other in the back as much as the enemy.
Maps like Forest Colony and River City seemed too small for 8v8 and really should have been expanded for 12v12. When you can shoot the other team from your spawn when they are still on theirs, the map is too small!

that requires far more coordination then most PUGs can muster. I'm glad they managed to make a mech game where teamwork matters and there is actually some reason to drive something besides an Atlas. They simply seem to have not taken into account that PUGs can't coordinate very well. I really don't know why they don't crib from games like LoL or DOTA2. At the pro levels, you need intense coordination, but at the casual level you barely need any.

There are eight permutations to this:
1) Defend with a fast mech and some of your 11 teammates defend - Not a problem
2) Defend with a slow mech and some of your 11 teammates defend - Not a problem
3) Attack with a fast mech and some of your 11 teammates defend - Not a problem
4) Attack with a slow mech and some of your 11 teammates defend - Not a problem
5) Defend with a fast mech and none of your 11 teammates defend - Not a problem
6) Defend with a slow mech and none of your 11 teammates defend - Not a problem
7) Attack with a fast mech and none of your 11 teammates defend - Not a problem
8) Attack with a slow mech and none of your 11 teammates defend - Problem
If your teammates aren't defending, then switch from 8 to any one of 5, 6, or 7. Congratulations, you've solved the problem through your own initiative.

I have played Battle Tech since the mid-80s, and it has always been so.

This is a common and obtuse reply to a valid gripe. The point is to increase fun. Sneaking around combat to stand in a square unrealistically having a smoke for a couple minutes is being a troll. If you have fun ruining everyone's fun (including your own teammates) then you are a troll. Nobody but yourself likes you. If you attempt to defend the legitimacy of a mechanic that allows you to scratch your troll itch, you're a leader of trolls.
You should be made extinct. You should not be allowed to continue to have fun at the expense of the majority. This is not good business. The rest of us would like to have fun too. We would like to fight and XP out our mechs, and we would like to make CBills to buy new weapons and new mechs. When you "capture a base without combat" you get nothing more for it than a valueless tic in your "win" stat and urinate on everyone else's fun. Mostly, the rest of us would like to kill you - [edit: your mech ingame in RP, not in RL. You're not that important in RL] troll, and [ingame RP] urinate on your corpse for merely suggesting that if we don't like trolls like you spoiling OUR fun, that we all wait at our bases to defend them against trolls like you.
According to you, the rest of us all (red and blue) should all forego combat and simply wait 15 minutes for you trolls to inevitably show up, see us, and run cowardly away from combat because we are standing watch over our stupidly implemented little power station that is disproportionately somehow implemented to be disproportionately important to stand inside, while ignoring the dozen or so fully armed combat/siege machines of death left roaming idly on the "territory".
The game mechanic for assault is FAIL on every level for MOST players, unless you're a troll capper who sickly delights in ruining everyone else's fun, and that ticks the rest of us off. It frustrates us to read your troll posts, and it fills us with regret to pay PGI money for a game that would seem to cater to trolls.
You suggest the rest of us stay at our bases and defend it from you while waiting for the other team to bring the fight to us, but the flaw in your logic is that no fight will ever come if we all listen to you and simply "defend" our "base".
Trolls are on both teams. You ruin our fun and profit. There is no combat if both sides sit on their respective basket of "fragile little eggs", because one will never see the other, and there is no combat because you cap trolls, who ditch your mates and reduce their combat effectiveness to run off and spoil the fun of the game for everyone else, run away the second you turn the corner to see 12 mechs (sans the defenders' troll element who have already run away from THEIR team to spoil everyone's fun) standing there to stop you. So where then is the game?
