Here is my rig:

HP ENVY 15z

• Windows 8 64
• AMD Quad-Core A10-5750M Accelerated Processor
• AMD Radeon HD 8750M + HD 8000 Series Dual Graphics
• 15.6-inch diagonal Full HD BrightView LED-backlit Display (1920x1080)
• 6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• 750GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
• No Additional Office Software
• No additional security software
• 6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery
• No Internal DVD or CD Drive
• Backlit Keyboard
• HP TrueVision HD Webcam w/ integrated digital mic
• 802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth®

I can run skyrim on the highest settings with no lag whatsoever. MWO I could run on low settings, with v-sync off, running at a 1024x768 resolution and I'd get a healthy 35-45 FPS in combat with multiple contacts. Now I'm lucky to get above 15. I know the lack of directx 11 is partially to blame since my processor is part of a newer chipset and optimized to run better with 11 vs 9. I know for a fact my setup should be able to run this game flawlessly on medium graphics. Hell, maybe even high.

Anywho, my final point being the game is completely unplayable for me now. I'd like to see tweeks made so I can at least play with medium graphics settings in the future. I don't know what was altered in the last patch but the game is now a resource hungry monster on my GPU.

I'm also seeing a substantial drop in fps. I lowered my settings and found negligible improvement, and additionally found the framerate hit to be pretty "across the board" regardless of what I'm looking at nor how many mechs are left. This leads me to believe that this is likely a CPU bottleneck and not a GPU one. This seems likely as they added more players which probably results in significantly more CPU logic per tick.

I agree, if this stays I imagine 15% of players leave, probably more.

I'm willing to bet it's close to 70%. Not everyone can afford a beastly tower. I paid 750 for my laptop and that was pushing my budget.

I congratulated Garth yesterday on a successful patch which had improved performance after a couple of games..

Then I hit one of the bigger maps... Running fps monitor even on Low my rig struggles to hold a steady 25 fps.

Granted my PC is 4 years old and I know it needs some upgrade love but the last couple of patches really seem to have caused the system to struggle.

I'm currently running everything on low and 1366 x 768 full screen to try and keep the game moving smoothly.

My rig is an Intel Quad Core, 4GB ram, HIS 5770 IGB card, 1TB 5400 RPM HD, Asus Mobo, windows 7 64

PGI, I LOVE THE 12V12!!!!!!!!!!!!

That said, I have dropped fps substantially, but since my fps improved greatly for the last patch(prior to 12v12), I am now back to where I was before(~30fps). This is ok since I expected to lose frames with more toons on my screen simultaneously.

I get a huge frame drop when I go from normal view to Thermal vision, which makes it a slide show....but when I revert back to normal view all is well....if I'm still alive lol.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Im sadly one of the low spec users and my fps droped don from 20-25 to 5-11. This is no more playable. Seems that i have to buy a new Pc. Was wondering from beginning that MWO was running on my laptop Acer aspire 8730, intel duo T 6400 2x 2gig 800MHz 2MB L2 cache, nvidia gt 9600m, 4gb DDR 2,18" full HD. Was really happy that i entered CB and played since that and had between 15-25 fps. Seems now its the time to buy a big,fat rig.

Something to investigate:

It was noted in closed beta that MW:O was less GPU constrained & more CPU constrained. It only fully utilizes a single core. Have you checked temps/utilization on your CPU cores versus GPU? This is often why many of us saw little improvement after adjusting graphics settings.

It's possible the additional networking calculation/simulation overhead with 24 mechs is maxing CPU performance.

It's been weeks since I've last looked, but it was just as recent as a few patches ago that my CPU behavior was the same as Closed Beta: 1 CPU core maxed, the other 7 barely working.

I'll patch & check it out again tonight.

I have an i7-3930K, 32GB RAM, and 2 GTX690s and even I noticed a bit of a decrease. Torso traverse not as smooth and a little laggy. Ping was somewhat higher than normal, but not anything that would honestly cause any issues. I don't know what my FPS was before, but I suspect it took a bit of a hit with the 12v12 ops happening now.

Ouch... you have something terribly wrong with your pc if you are seeing a decrease in frames with that rig. Perhaps you should reinstall windows and start from scratch.

have you tried only runing the game with one vid card?

I have seem zero frame rate decrease and I only have a 4gig gtx680.

Just checked and both my cores work at about 100%. So yes, it's CPU limited. But at least for me both of the cores work. Maybe this might be the problem that for some people game has dropped to using just one core after latest patch?
