Ummm....

I don't know who these guys are, and i really don't care. Best i can figure is they're some sort of Interwebz Tribe that "ruined" some games or something.

All I've seen from them personally is a little bit of moderately funny forum trolling. Considering they were being badmouthed before they even got here by same said forums, I don't really see a problem. I'm probably just wasting my time starting up a thread that's gonna be locked, but since I'm just an old disabled soldier, I've got plenty of time to waste.

So here are a few random points in no particular order I'm just gonna leave around.

1: Any game that can be "ruined" by a group of players had issues to begin with.

2: This is not a RP forum, nor a RP game. If they chose not to take RP as serious as you, so what? Your probably taking it too seriously any way. I mean, come on, this is a combat game, you planning to RP your enemies to death? Take it to Fan Fiction.

C: Somebody needs to open a 24 hour Taco Bell near my place. If Goon Swarm can make that happen, i will personally make their leader Arch-Chancellor.

Blue: Players are a good thing. I personally hope this "swarm" is large, and they all like to spend money in an effort to "P2Win" so that PGI can make a couple of bucks. (and maybe invest them in Taco Bell franchises, just a thought)

Potato: I keep reading all these forums about RP'n in MWO, and it makes me wonder. How? Are you gonna stop in the middle of a match and chat out some stuff in pidgeon chinese just 'cause there's a Lia emblem by your name? Most players are just gonna run around like idiots blowing things up with their Giant Death Robots. Considering that, i think a bunch of "goons" will fit in OK.

I think a lot of the contention is a "certain element" of the folks who like to RP taking things too seriously, and starting a flame war. There's nothing inheritly wrong with RPing a bit (It's fun to get into the game a bit while we sit here being bored on a forum), but to attack other people who aren't participating (Or for people who aren't participating to act like dicks to those who are, it goes both ways) is bullcrap. Let your freak flag fly and everyone will have fun, etc.

If you didn't believe in roleplaying, why did you pick a house and stuff like that. I think you're going to miss out if you can't speak at least a few words of Chinese when everyone else is doing it.

Goons, Goonswarm, Goonwaffe are all nmes most EVE players will recognise, and the fact is, they are a bunch of griefers edited Best way to get past them, is to ignore them.

They want to stop you having fun, but if you fall for what THEY want to do, they win.

Simply put, if they DO start griefing, just go do something else fun, and don't give them the chance to think they won. It's a game in the end, pixels and code, not real life. If you get too stressed over it, they win.

They aren't worth it folks.

!: I've got nothing against RP'n. I do it myself, but just like killing people, it has a time and a place, and if you get either wrong, it just bugs the heck out of people.

Waffles: I resent any implication that i might be calm, or rational. I am an angry old man with PTSD any rumors started to the contrary could affect my Gubberment Check, and will be answered with small arms fire.

Well it's more a combat vehicle simulator sort of affair to be fair. Also I think this is still imaginary, I mean I don't watch the news as much as I should at uni but I reckon I'd of noticed.

But that wasn't my point, he may of well chosen Liao hoping for discounts on Ravens and electronic gismos, or just likes green. I originally chose Davion just for Autocannons and a cool logo, and abit of parts being based around the UK, but decided to hold my horses when the serious RPers were posting in the other goon thread among other threads about Davions being so saintly and just, when they have just as many flaws as everyone else (which actually was why I liked them).

I can't speak for the OP obviously, but I'm just gonna wait till launch and see what takes my fancy.

e: Hmm, actually I have no idea if Sanction is a Goon. For some reason I thought he was, but I could be wrong. Regardless, the "sperg" stuff does annoy me.

I'm not a troll in the least. I don't like ableism. I don't care who's doing it, it's rude. Also, diagnosing oneself as having Asperger's as an excuse for being insufferable is worthy of scorn. It is frankly insulting to the folks who DO suffer from the various forms of Autism.
