That's a lot of extra work the developers have to do. Instituting a new set of match variables would require even more testing and analysis. The better solution is for them to adjust already existing calculations based on metrics they've gathered since implementing the reward nerf. That's not to say your ideas are without merit. They're good ideas, but there are systems already in place to handle these points of data.

Perhaps you're right. I just figure since they have no problem throwing in complete game-changing mechanics in the 11th hour anyway (12 vs 12, nerfed rewards, heat scaling, movement variables, etc.) that revising the current reward system wouldn't be that big of a deal...especially when they plan on implementing massively game changing mechanics in the 12th hour (i.e., CW and UI 2.0).

I do not believe balances in mechanics requires as much testing as implementing a completely new system, whether it be rewards, damage, heat, or speed. However, I do agree that CW should have gone up for beta testing a lot sooner than it has. Even if the faction system itself works flawlessly, that's not to say it will not cause (major) underlying bugs as a result. Adding in completely new systems and mechanics without thorough testing is a sure way to build a shaky house of cards, especially if the systems and mechanics have been/are to be instituted as a defining feature. In the future, I do not see why the developers would have a hard time implementing a different reward system, such as what you've suggested. In fact, it may be required when the game opens to a much larger audience.
