I don't know what changed between a couple of hours ago and now but I just played two games and had virtually no sound other than static. Was there a hot fix?

There was a hotfix for some framerate issues. If you are still getting static I suggest you submit a support ticket with a DXDiag and Omicron log attached. You may also want to run the repair tool before that to see if something got corrupted in the hotfix
