Dead guy telling the last guy to kill himself so he doesn't have to wait.

I say, "just quit out."

He says "I want this mech."

I say "so buy another one."

He then brags that he has more mechs than me....

How does he know how many mechs I have?

Am I wrong?

Attitudes in this game are getting to me.

Im sorry but i understand where he's coming from. Ive been in several matches where the enemy has more than half of the team still alive and our team only has a spider or any other light mech that only runs around wasting everyones time.

If its 1v2 or even 1v3 its fine, maybe the light mech is an ACE pilot and he can actually win. If he goes for the cap thats fine as well, we still might win. But if he's just running away with no purpose other than wasting time then i for one would wish him to actually try to do something or just let them kill him.

So?
This is what capping is for, isn't it?

Players that only have 1 mech or only want to play 1 specific mech have that mech stuck in the game untill its over.

In most cases yes, but what about on large maps where theres only slow mechs left and they're positioned in a way that it would take them 5mins+ to get to the enemy base to cap. Point is, it isnt a perfect system and it does happen that the last man standing on the losing team is only wasting time. Doesnt happen often, but when it does its pointless.

In said situations i have tried to politely point out that wasting time benefits noone and sometimes the said light player agrees and tries to at least fight, other times he/she doesnt and i just go get a drink or quit and pick a different mech to do the next game with. I have however been proven wrong once by a player that i thought was wasting time but turned out to be a very skilled pilot and managed to win the game for us, at which point i sent him a private message apologizing and praising his skill.

I stand by this diligent habit! Real men watch matches, learn their mistakes. Think, build a consensus and analyze the match.
Which is what makes a good player... good.

welcome to the intarweb super tube way. anonymity guarantees no one can fact check him and prove that he is a moron and even if you do lay the verbal smack down he will continue on as usual with a new group where no one recognizes him.
