Is the quad AC2 a good build? They seem sort of iffy to me.

Take out everything in the AC10 build, stuff an XL300 in there, two DHS in engine two in arms, four AC2s, two MLas, five tons of ammo.

Enjoy the incredible DPS that wears off Atlas CT in ten seconds.

I run mine like this:

Doing very well in it, except for the heat. More heatsinks wouldnt help tho, the ghost heat just too crazy.

Wish I hadn't sold my DD. Would love to run twin AC10, 4x MG build with it.

First thought is that thing looks like it would run hot. Second is why would you max armor the legs and not the torsos? Better yet shave a ton off the legs (maybe more) and add a heat sink (or two).

I've never been legged in a Jager (Basic on one, enough XP on the second to get half of Master, working on the 3rd now), came close once due to massive LRM fire so really don't understand the leg armor.....

I do love the dual AC20 builds. I really do. They are excellent at dealling damage to lights (if you are skilled enough to hit them) and tear off armour quicker than you can say boo.
However, the AC10 has a special place in my heart...

JM6-A. Standard 250, Endo, DHS, 2x AC10, 4x streak, 2t streak ammo, and rest in AC10.
Runs out of ammo if you aren't careful, but works incredibly well, against lights as mainly. Hurts the big boys, but I built this thing to take down those damn lights who like to try and cap. They intentionally try to keep out of your way, because you hurt. ECM inhibits this build, but only for as long as it takes for you to crit it.

Problem is ghost heat, otherwise its great.

I have to agree wit you. Before "the" (i dont know exactly which) patch I used this setup. I Love it! 8dmg/0.5 sec...16dmg/1 sec... Usually before my target moved out LOS it spent about 3-5 sec in the crosshair. But after the heat patch i can only shoot for 2-3 sec before get overheated.
About 2xGauss: It isn't an easily playable build, but if you play it clever (never get in a brawl, stay in at least partial cover, support the brawlers) it could be a match winning setup. Especially dangerous to lights...Muhahahahahaaaa! Hate spiders (when i am not in one)!

Yeah, "run hot" is an understatement - Smurfy says the thing needs 5 more HeatSinks to even work.

I run an asymetric load on my Firebrand, and jm6-DD.
Firebrand

And my DD runs 2 more ML and machineguns instead of the PPC. I often swap the FB's PPC out for the ER version so I can harass targets in their spawn from the other side of the map.

This is exactly what Im running, except I have swapped in an XL300 engine, and added a BAP. You REALLY need the BAP in order to deal with the recent Spider infestation that has been cropping up on just about every map I play.

I love having lights run away from me, hehe. Well, when they don't leg me and kill me. :) And yes, ammo consumption is a problem, but I almost always have SSRM ammo by end of match (I run 2 tons), but I run out of AC10 pretty quick. Save the AC for the Assaults and Heavies, spam SSRM at everything in general.

Did get one shotted once though. AC20 through the left rear torso and hit the XL engine. Downside to this type of aggressive build, but in a way it was my own fault. I was getting overly aggressive in chasing down a Cent (I had him!) and walked around the corner into most of his team. The right place for this build is as fire support, just behind the front line. Pour on direct fire support, and then surprise any light breaking through your line with 4 SSRM2s slamming into them as they jet past.

Lottsa fun!

Well this got me inspired to make something for my JM dd that will use all 6 balistic slots. here is my version of your build:
JM6-DD 2xAC/10

and one more:
JM6-DD 2xAC/10v2
droped AMS and picked Ferro armor. this let me get STD 260 and some more armor.

So, um, I took off the AC10s and loaded it with twin LBX10 and two more tons of ammo.

Is it me hallucinating or does LBX10 have shorter cooldown than AC10? Because it certainly feels like that. I've been winning face-to-face solos like crazy.

Also Lights drop like flies around me.

I disagree- Yes it runs hot, but you can easily deal with it adjusting your tactics. Pop out of cover, unleash pain for 4-5 secs and hide back, cool off, wash and rinse. I run mine with 1 (ONE) HeatSink and stockpile as much ammo as I can get, usually end the day dealing 600-1000 dmg, the main limitant is always the ammo not the heat.

I run both dual AC-10 and dual LB-10x Jagers with XL engines (280s generally).
I've managed to get 1000+ pt damage rounds with the AC-10s, and 950+ pt damage rounds with the LB-10X, so I've found the builds to be viable.

Both are devastating, provided you can maintain a fire support role, brawling is not your strength. I found the AC-10s do better in terms of kills, but the LB-10Xs are excellent for swatting lights and crippling mechs (so many 'component destroyed').

While the LB-10x tends to do a little less damage overall (about 10% from experience), I just love the sound and the rocking of an enemy mech on impact.

Current build: Xl 265, DHS, Ferro. 2 AC10's, 2 Machine guns, 2 medium lasers, 5 tons of AC10 ammo (can go to 6 if you pull the extra heatsink.), 1 ton of mg ammo, and there you go. Solid hitting power and good point defenses.

I've found my 2 AC/10 Jag to be more effective than my 2 AC/20 Jag. I don't really care for LB-10x though.

I am still getting better results out of 2x AC-5 + 4x mlas. I want to like dual AC-10. Is the key to victory resisting the urge to flank?

2xLB10x, 2xMPLAS, 4xMG, AMS, XL275, Endo, DHS

I've been running this build lately and been having a blast. I can't figure it, but before I traded out the MLAS for MPLAS, enemy mechs would stay out in the open more........but since I start hitting them also with the MPLAS they seem to head for cover quicker. This build shreds the annoying lights, and has come in really handy (when I'm stupid) when I run around a blind corner into a hornets nest. I chain fire all but the MG's and keep my MG's rocking the entire time only for the occasional MPLAS's when ready. I haven't hit the 1K damage mark yet, but have done my best with this setup so far. It has put a smile on my face!
