This is a non-issue because all the essential keybindings can be adjusted by the user..

What shooter in the past ever had targeting via the Tab key? That doesnt make any sense to me. Not sure why MMOs are being brought up in this thread, since this isn't that type of game...

Sounds like you're the one trolling. Not sure how this game has a "tab target system" when it clearly has an "R target system."

My guess is the OP was frustrated at what he incorrectly perceived to be shortcomings in the keymapping. For example 'show target overlay' doesnt exactly click as meaning show friendly overhead info floaties when you read it, but it is in fact there. No this game does not default to tab targeting but yes it does have a targeting key/feature, but the comparison to an mmo is off base, better to compare it to a flight sim or some other game where the combatants use targeting computers or some such to lock targets. Much ado about nothing really.
