- And if anybody is maybe interested in further help, you may consider to download the BOINC-client (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) and help the cloud computing scientific projects (like "Help Fight Childhood Cancer" below and many many other) by just contributing some CPU/GPU-time.

As all and many may not know, I am a contributor to the Australian Starlight fund and I have been brought to tears every day due to the generosity of everyone in the MWO community. but i ask each and everyone one of you this. Please do not let this stop here. Help out your local cancer charities and funds. Please look up your closest charities and lets see what else we all can do together to stop this...

I agree with this, but not the rest. The advancement of medicine in the last Sixty years or so is nothing short of a Miracle.
(A lot of it funded by events like this)
And if all the money does is make the next child(like Sarah), the next family (like the Parries), burden even a little easier, It is money well spent.

And when 10,543 Mechwarriors stand together, even Cancer should be on notice.

According to PETA (http://www.peta2.com...ments-overview/), some of it might. However, Canada has quite strict regulations on how animal testing can or cannot be conducted, and the Canadian Council on Animal Care in Science (http://www.ccac.ca/en_) "ensures that animals are used under ethical and proper conditions. They cite that animals used for testing purposes must receive optimal care within the realms of the experimental use. In addition, they must be treated humanely and respectfully during the course of their use." (http://www.aboutanim...ing-canada.html).

In short, if you're concerned about animal testing to the degree you don't want to donate to Canadian Cancer Society, I humbly suggest you go to http://www.peta.org/...-charities.aspx and find a charity you feel comfortable with donating to.

I can't really fault anyone for their convictions (even though I don't personally agree with yours at all).

I do hope you take this as an opportunity to make a donation to a cancer research charity you feel more comfortable with.

Thank you once again. I would never hesitate with the eleemosynary purchase if I hear the official response about the absence of animal testing in the current funded research: there are always options like http://www.caringcancertrust.com/, which do not employ animals in the tests. However, I bid those who do not wish to involve in "choosing the lesser of two evils" to sign this petition: http://www.thepetiti...ancer-research/!

Dunno if anyone can help me here.

I've been trying to buy this mech for a while now. Whilst I have no problem buying MC etc (i've recently paid for the project phoenix mechs) - the playspan window for the purchase of Sarah's mech refuses to validate purchasing this mech either through Paypal or directly on my credit card. I've tried contacting them but I'm getting no response....

Not only do I want to support the cause, but as an avid light mech player I would really like this mech in game...

Whilst my vitriol toward our PGI overlords is a little high ATM, I do want to step back and thank them, Jon Parries and the MW:O community for doing such a wonderful thing and making such a showing of it! I said it before, and will say it again, I might argue with a lot of you, and think sometimes you got dropped on your heads as children, but at least you guys have your hearts in the right place when it really counts. Kudos.

And I am proud to remember Sarah, who was a braver trooper and warrior than any of us. Sleep well, little one.
