Alright, this... this needs to stop.

there are so many things wrong with this game it's not even funny; Ghost heat, heat measurements, icons that go over seismic.

This ghost heat thing, this is a bit ridiculous; basically you have a weapons limit that prevents players from simplifying their builds. "So I can have 6 Medium lasers and only 2 Large lasers?
Hahaha, no."

I used to use PPCs way back since December of 2012, I loved them even with their (back then) high heat, PGI then brought the heat down because they weren't "used enough". Well Duh PPCs are "Specialist weapons". then they increased their coolddown then they added the weapon limits then they upped their heat a bit.

Reverting them back to their original heat stats would have worked better, along with heating up some other weapons too.

Your constant addition of mechanics is Confusing PGI, stop it
---

In the mechlab we have a meter that reads from 0-2... 0 to 2 what? Bananas? why can't we have it as a percentage like "Full Alpha will leave you 68% of your current heat threshold" . Your math is confusing PGI, stop it.
--

I give out orders, I think the team could use some coercing with enemy positions no matter how cliche' (giving players a goal to work forward to is GREAT) but the icons go OVER the enemy bars and seismic perks which has caused some players to rage when they can't see their precious blinking red dots.

Your map is confusing PGI, fix it.
---

lastly, I remember pulse lasers being this constantly firing piece of brawling beauty, high heat and high weight, but with a mean firing rate that offsets its close range. Half machine gun, half beam.

those are the Pulse Lasers that I love and remember. (MW3 and and a bit of MW4/Mechcommander)

Right now the game feels like Calvin Ball with strange imaginary rules that no one can follow but everyone is expected to obey

I am sorry, Calvin Ball has more sense, logic and rational rules to it than MW:O.

Most pf these rules are ok and would be great if they were properly explained in the client; the PPC ghost heat change was great and really cut down on the 40-60 pt alphas that were the fad back then.

I still have a very good win rate and KD with a four PPC Stalker but my 5 PPC Stalker is history (and rightly so) and I now need to fire in two twenty damage volleys rather than a fifty damage killshot.

I'm enjoying the game a lot more since these changes.

The ghost heat doesnt just affect PPCs.

I'm sure everyone was complaining about the 6 LL Stalkers or the 4 LL K2s out there...

It's a dumb and unnecessary fix to a problem. They should have just raised heat back to where it was in Closed Beta and add actual heat penalties for running hot (ammo explosions, movement reduction, etc).

I think you're confused about which part makes the mech move.

That would also hit lighter mechs just as hard as assaults and the little guys need all the help they can get to be honest.

I agree that the large laser cap could do with being increased, though.

The Ghost heat measure is mostly there to keep assaults under control and it's a good start. It doesn't help with the 2xPPC+Gauss issue but it has taken my 50 alpha Stalker out of the running and your suggesting would allow it back in.

It doesn't need to come back.

Ever.

The 2 erppc+guass is the direct result of the ghost heat for ppc. Most efficient current acceptable loadout, with no ghost.

Kinda reminds me of Duck Amuck. (I was going to post a link but although I am pretty sure it is in the public domain I couldn't verify it- there has to be some sort of searchable public domain database... isn't there one?)

The 2ERPPC Gauss mechs were around before ghost heat.

Easy solution would be to include Gauss rifles in the same heat penalty bracket as PPCs.

Not sure if it's the right solution but it would work.

I also keep getting hung up on terrain that are low enough to stomp on.

the best way to solve most of our problems would be to do a major, and I mean MAJOR heat overhaul with higher heat on EVERYTHING not just picky-choosy about it.
we have to keep it simple, complexity is not good for any game

Complexity may be the only option as simplicity will hit lights disproportionately hard in this case.

I am not exactley afan of the ghost heat, but I fully agree on the need for better explanation. How is someone not reading the forums supposed to know about the crit menance from MGs?
Some other confusing stuff is at least hinted at in the loading screens, although having it only there is bad.
Things like: double HS are in fact 1.4x HS.. exept for engine HS,those are actually double.

Terrain needs tweaking, but it got better already.
And although I agree on a major heat overhaul (after hit registration works.. no use in weapons balancing before it), complexity is not bad. Many long time classics are quite complex. And although a simpler game might attrackt more 3PV console gamers, the complex, more sim like variant would cater to a currently nearly untapped market, so both have their possible profit.

As with JJ-shake, the "ghost heat" penalty was a completely unnecessarily complicated system to add to this "game".

Raising heat on PPC's/ERPPC's back to canon levels, and reverting SRM damage/spread back to January, would have fixed both the "pop-tart" issue, and the "pinpoint-alpha" sniper issue, with one brush-stroke.

What? Do you read the Patch Notes? If someone reads "nothing" about the game, then the knowledge they gain will also be "nothing". How is that the games fault? (Holy Smokes Batman)

You mean the patch notes that only provide a snippit of what was actually done, and tend to be horrifically incomplete, leaving off critical changes?
