I haven't had a chance to fully test this on across all my mechs but from what I can tell it only appears to be affecting my Flame Dragon (I have tried this on a Victor 9k, Atlas-D and Jenner-D). Whilst testing a new loadout in my Flame Dragon I only equipped 1 ton of ammo for the SRM-6. After firing one shot I noticed the ammo count had decreased by 10, not 6. After some digging around I did discover the "nerf" that causes Flame dragons to fire two volleys when equipped with a SRM-6, 4 in the first volley, 2 in the second. That's all I could find that mentions Flames and SRM-6 issues, but it appears that they are consuming 10 ammo per shot while still only dealing damage and showing the firing of 6 missiles. If any other Flame pilots (or anyone else noticing this) have encountered this then I guess we need to steer this to the Dev's for a fix.

Most likely it is shooting 5+5. My Quickdraw does that, and even shoots an lrm15 as 10+10

Put an SRM6 into a Jenner-D and it will fire 8 missiles out, and do 8 missiles worth of damage too.

Yeah, I've seen SRMs fire in strange ammounts randomly. It's odd, but you do actually fire the missiles it appears.

hm, noticed a while ago I had an odd (literally) amount of ammo on my lrm20 stalker, will have to pay closer attention to see if im firing more or less than I should be.
Probably has something to do with the missile tubes, i.e. you can only fire complete salvo's out of tube arrays, so if you have 6 tubes, you fire a multiple of 6 regardless of missile rating. Anyone confirmed if it works with ssrm's as well?
