Yeah, Yeah Kints have huge CT's. Dragons, and Pults do too. Phracts have Huge everything, QD's legs are the size redwood, Hunchbacks RT' are monsterous, So are Awesomes RT, LT, Commandoes Go boom real well. Highlanders have oh wait those guys are a pita to take down. Jaegers boom but they get boomed easily enough back. Off to Stalkers they couldn't out turn a drunk catapiller. Ravens just well they exist i think, Jenners jump lift is wonky and they boom too. Off to the cent. Well cant say much about them they zombie really well, Cicadas are well cicadas only the Garth pilots them. Atli die, Black Jacks implode. Looks like almost every mech has a fault. Oh wait don't forget the Spider.... oh yeah God MOde Power Armor 5000.
All and all mechs have something you can use against them you just have to find it.
Kintaro is my favorite mech right now........Its just so fun. Its real easy to make me laugh and kintaro just brings tears with the things I would never see in another mech.
My only complaint is the 19 comes with doors instead of single narc tube....I gotta rule in favor of looks. You know it had to be some whiner's input.......
I've never retreated so much in a mech in my life.......Kintaro as entertainment.....I give a high score. Its not boring.
Hum, the Pretty Baby comes with DHS already installed. Also, quite possibly one of the worst stock load-outs in the game.
Look, I don't want to be a huge jerk, but if you're going to sit there and claim that a stock PB is some amazing mech, I don't think anyone should really listen to your opinions on mech balance and load outs. The PB comes set-up like trash and only becomes mediocre with a lot of tweaking - trust me, I've got over 100k XP on my Buyers Remorse by now, I've tried everything to make it perform with the $30 I paid.
That it does. Might explain why it worked better than the 8V stock. I don't think you're being a jerk. You can read my balance thoughts or not, I let the likes there speak for themselves when it comes to that.
PB comes with a good stock loadout if you play with a support mindset. Do I like the hard points? Honestly no I would have liked an extra hardpoint or two on the arms and would readily trade any single hardpoint for at least one ballistic. With the success I've had with machine guns lately I definitely would have loved it that much more. But really with MGs it's 2 minimum for real fun.
The trick to the loadout is combined fire. The different weapons are for different ranges, and you can combine them.
LRMs for 600+ meters or clear lines of sight beyond 700 to 900.
PPC + LRM for long range,
PPC + LRM + large laser when they get within 400 and in good line of sight
Cut the PPC within 300 (to conserve heat) and just do LRM + large laser to cool.
When they get within 200, cut the LRM, PPC + large + medium and
if by some miracle it's still alive then at less than 90 Large + ML + SRM. Anything by then is dead. Should the enemy have good concentrated fire on you, you're too exposed. If you're hit more than 3 times before you can hit them more than 4, you're too exposed. Fight around corners, that's what LRMs are for. Find a wall, turn left or right parallel with it. Lock on target with your arm reticule, and then let your LRMs fly around the wall.
Stay off the front line and play your role and you're good. Pretty Baby might make a great light hunter, but it excels in the ideal role of an Awesome, which is fire support performed from the second or third echelons of your team. In other words, second or third lines. I say again, stay off the front line and you'll be much happier with it.
That said, one thing you might enjoy hearing and trying out is you can climb hills up to 50 degrees due to the PB's nice perk, extra inertia! As long as slope or ramp's space is two Awesomes wide, you can climb it. Simply go full throttle, swerve one way until it goes to full, swerve the other, repeat.
It'll be the only assault you find still reaching the tops of the pillars on Tourmaline, and finding the nice nests that only lights and some mediums can reach.
I had a lot of practice with the 8V (standard heatsinks, might explain that mix-up) trial before I bought the Pretty Baby. As such I used it as an 8V more than a 9M (the other 'similar' Awesome). It's all in the fire control. I confess, though, for the role the 8V is better suited weapon-wise. Just a shame the 8V can't climb as well as the PB.

Basic PB advice.
Hope those help you. I personally believe its hardpoints are designed to hurt its brawling capabilities, as otherwise its agility and capabilities would be akin to the closed beta Catapult K2s in terms of "zomg overpowered pay to win" complaints. Granted it doesn't have 180 degrees of torso twist, it does have some nasty speed and it's amazing how it twists with upgrades. In the past I have been accused of having Streak SRM-6s. O.o; Sadly HSR for missiles is really hurting without a good splash, and with a good splash they're insanely overpowered.
You wouldn't have as much trouble if we had smaller heat capacity (limit) like what I'm asking about, as concentrated alpha strike damage would not be possible if you shut off at 30 heat, instead of the average without unlocks of 50 to 70, and with unlocks reaching late 70s to mid-90s. Lower cap = less shots can be done at once = more staggered fire = more chain firing = less pinpoint issues. That and have you noticed the firing rate of most weapons is 4 seconds? ML, AC/20, PPC, Gauss, while the LL is 4.25 seconds? Heh. But that's up to you if you want to check those out.
Honestly I think a couple of ballistic slots in the left torso would have gone a long way for my PB -- some MGs to back up the SRMs and when the mech gets too hot once things have hit the fan. But, more than that, the return of knockdowns would return Awesomes to a pretty decent status. I like ramming things, and the Awesome 9Ms in closed beta (before people realized it was super easy to headshot them) would go into a match with maybe 1 laser and 1 missile, and maximum standard engine they could fit to bulldoze through enemy Atlases.
Favorite one I saw was an Awesome that ran through and knocked down 3 Atlases like bowling pins as our team of lights came up and swarmed them. Freaking loved it.
Meh i like it, slap some LRM´s on it and you are good to go... Kinda sad for the poor treb but that is life.
You know not all mechs can be best at everything... Nor can the newest mech always be the best.. NSF:World tried that and it made A LOT of people very angry as thy car they just bought a few weeks ago was not second rate... Better to keep the bad spread out in different ways.
As for stock loadout... I dare you to find ONE person who run the Raven 3L (or any other raven) in stock config. If you find that person he or she is either a very dedicated person or deserves a cupcake.
It is fine as it is, Without some personality all mechs could just be cubes with hardpoints.
PB...Do I like the hard points? Honestly, no, I would have liked an extra hardpoint or two on the arms...
Word. The lopsided energy weapons took a lot of practice, and it really needed the Pinpoint upgrade to unf*** it.
I've mastered the PB and still don't like the asymmetry of it, but it pulls its own weight now.
It was probably good practice for other lopsided mechs...Which is most of them, actually.

(Melee in MWO, or the closest thing there was.)
No doubt the PB has some nice agility but it gets worthless when you don't have the tonnage to get that firepower to make real use of it.
But I do want to point out:
Your first 2 videos show a stock PB (yes we know), you fire at the first sign of a target lock and you constantly hit objects. Thats bad LRM usage, especially when you kept firing at alot of lights from so far away.
The last thing in your final video, you weren't even using a PB. You were using the AWS-8V. :/
Why tell people how to use a PB when it isn't even the correct config.
PB could have been much more, but it has no place in MWO if doesn't have a specialty role since it is grid locked into a hybrid range mech (the ill-omen balanced mechs for all ranges).
Brawler? There are better mechs for that.
Long range? We have that too.
In-between? yeah, I guess this mech will do it. But you'll get crap damage for it.

I'm sure all those suckers errr, pilots who bought an Awesome feel so much better knowing that with a CT that big, they can put an XL in with no worries about losing a side torso.
Bad hitboxes are bad. Why don't you see the AWS chassis very often? Because it has bad hitboxes. If the KTO maintains it's poor hitbox configuration you'll have the same deal.
I rather enjoy stomping with my Awesome, but i'm not sure if i started doing that because i enjoy it, or because you got me started on Awesomes. <.<
(Honestly the Golden Boy makes a better Lore-friendly Trebuchet than the Trebuchet does, pack on the LRMs and stream-fire!)

This is not how you balance Mechs. I had been looking forward to using Kintaro's in their default configuration, which are DESIGNED to get in close at average speed.
This is actually my biggest problem with the Kintaro as implemented in MW:O. To use it, you can't use it in the way an actual Kintaro, in Battletech, is meant to be used. In fact, you have to use it in the way a completely different 'mech (Trebuchet) is supposed to be used, and it outshines that other 'mech in ITS own role!
Likewise with the Awesome. It's supposed to be a PPC boat... but in MW:O, the Stalker (which is supposed to run a large mix of not-quite-so-heavy weaponry) outperforms it in its own traditional role. So does the Cataphract. The Awesome was never supposed to be a "fast heavy" either - it is supposed to be heavily armed, heavily armored, and highly feared. It is supposed to be a 'mech version of a PPC turret; high firepower, great for point defense and base assaults, not so great for mobile attack. None of those traits apply to it in MW:O. All of them apply to the Stalker. MW:O's Stalkers are really its Awesomes, and now its Kintaros are (evidently) really its Trebuchets.

Greetings MechWarriors!
Starting today all Kintaro variants can be purchased for ! Joining their golden brother are the KTO-18, KTO-19, and KTO-20 – for three times the Medium Missiles! We hope you all enjoy these new variants, and we look forward to seeing you on the battlefield!
(New skins cannot be added to the KTO-18, 19, or 20 yet, but will be able to August 20th. The basic skin can, however, be coloured.)
Cheers,
The MechWarrior Online Team
Okay, didn't notice this in the prior posts, am I the only one who missed the introduction of medium missles into the game

I'm running close to stock with my Ravens, bought on a whim been getting far to many mechs which customs are taking priority..
still running stock engines and standard Hs can't remember if they came fitted with endo as I have no running away speed with them I removed narc and tags for extra oomph in the 3L.
but as I'm running stock engines and heats I think I deserve the cupcake..
Why are people complaining about the size of the CT? Having a large CT just means you can run an XL without any additional risk! Enjoy having an additional 10 or so tons to spend on weapons
Least they could do is reduce L/R torso armor and up the armor on the CT.
Oh wait.. ..anyone can do that.

At the time I made the video special for someone, and my PB had 2 flamers, a large pulse, and streaks and didn't feel like rebuilding it. 8V and PB are nearly identical and the playstyle described is also identical.
And yes, I spam-fired LRMs in the first two vids because I had no reason not to. It drains enemy AMS, weakening them for when I can hit them and it suppresses them (suppressive fire is a concept where you keep enemies at bay while your team finds a way to get them without them getting to you).
I also didn't have a set way of playing it, as those two videos were literally my first, second and/or third tries with the PB. How did you perform on your first three games?

Heh. Honestly a ballistic in the head would have made me happy. Blind or not I'd like some sort of dakka.
And indeed. I wouldn't mind some mechs that have lopsided left heavy, right heavy, and symmetrical variants for a bit of variety. For most of these it's all "Take out the right." "Take out the right." "Take out the right." When are we going to need to take out the left? Or have trouble deciding which side?
What else did you sneak into this patch? My frame rates are abysmal now, like I am playing a stop motion game. I was getting 60+ FPS solid two patches ago, then down 10 FPS after the 12 v 12 and now down to 29-30? I have a 680 GTX with the latest drivers and a fresh install of MWO.
